Women's World Cup 2019

You know when you wish you hadn't posted something.

Anyway, do the Netherlands have any hope against the mighty U.S.A?

Short answer: Very little.

I think USA, France and England are the best teams in the tournament, probably in that order. One side of the draw was way easier than the other.

But Greece won the Euros. Wimbledon beat Liverpool in the FA Cup. Anything can happen in a one-off match in football, and the US are suspect at the back. I can't see the US not scoring, but they'll probably also concede.

Isn't she a notorious violent bully, Hope Solo?
The domestic violence case stopped short of court from what I remember. That aside, she's had a Roy Keane-esque tendency when it comes to slagging off her manager(s). Fair to say at the very least, that she's lacked good grace when dropped.

Well apart from duffing in her sister and niece she was subject of a restraining order from her bullying victim in school
Nephew, not niece. In somewhat disputed circumstances (though she was almost definitely pissed and being an arse). And an incident at high school twenty years ago....doesn't quite add up to being a 'notorious violent bully'

Apart from when she violently beat up that girl in a bullying incident

Actually, if she's married another American footballer, the couple would have become Mia and Hope Hamm-Solo. Close, but no cigar. :(

Utterly daft decision. Natural position, not clear and obvious in any way at all.

I don't see how the ref could say it was certain, so I thought she had to favour the attacker.

I was surprised they didn't bring Walsh on, perhaps for Moore, when they needed more creativity. Moving White out wide didn't seem to work.

It says something of expectations though that the men achieved the same result a year ago, and that was seen as a massive triumph.

I saw 5 minutes of the game yesterday (got caught up in pride and could not get home). Overall, I think that was very positive.
Who remembers the last womens world cup or tournement for that matter. They passed without a trace.
Hopefully, as a result of awareness being raised and the coverage/crowds, more money will be put into the womens game and/or
more women will take to the pitches.

I remember it, we came third and there was a huge buzz around it. The tournament was played in Canada though, so loads of matches took place after midnight.
