I feel Scotland and England have been drifting apart for at least 40 years, it's hardly a mere decade.

This morning on Andrew Neil's programme, Polly Toynbee said: "Even if Scotland votes No, you couldn't now have a Scot as a leader of a UK party or holding one of the offices of state."

You mean, like David Cameron?

He has a Scottish surname, and is of Scottish lineage. But I don't think he regards himself as Scottish. He was neither born here nor lives here. I suggest one or other of those is usually required (not necessarily both). You'd certainly need to think of yourself as Scottish, which he doesn't.

It should also be pointed out that however David Cameron defines his national identity, he isn't an MP for a Scottish constituency.

Right now I'm thinking that Salmond's anti-English rhetoric and actions bode ill for democracy in an independent future. Once Scotland's separated, he'll turn his ire elsewhere. It makes me think that Salmond wants to become a dictator.

Jesus fucking christ. I'm no fan of Salmond but to argue he's some kind of wannabe dictator is frankly sectioning material.

Scottish Opinion Monitor: No lead in referendum campaign narrows to 12%

EDINBURGH – 16th April 2014 – Scottish opinion on independence shows little change in the latest in the series of monthly polls by TNS. But the gap between the Yes and No votes continues to narrow and three quarters of Scottish adults now say they are certain to vote in the September 18th referendum.

The poll of 988 adults aged over 16 in Scotland found that 41% intend to vote No and 29% say they will vote Yes, with 30% undecided. This compares with a 42% No vote and a 28% Yes vote in the previous poll a month ago

The No side are panicking for some reason, even though the polls still show them in the lead. When people are scared they often attack, without provocation, reason or thought. This is going to get worse before it gets better imo. Bissett is pro Indy and vocal about it, therefore in the No side's eyes fair game.

I'm wondering just how low the bottom of this barrel can go :(
