Nice-looking station. I'd never heard of the place and your pic made me Google it. Lovely area. I hope you're going to see the magnificent Calstock Viaduct close by, a Grade II listed bulding and the largest viaduct in Britain to be constructed out of concrete blocks, apparently...

Yeah, went up to Gunnislake first and over the viaduct. I don't live far away and hadn't done the line in a while, so thought it would make a day out. I'd forgotten what an incredible bit of railway it is. Amazing views and some ridiculous climbs and curves.

When I first came to this country I spoke almost no English at all. My first home was in New Malden, and I would regularly see notices like the one above at numerous stations across the SW London rail network, so I assumed it was a commonplace word. Until a few months later it dawned on me that no fucker ever seemed to use it in conversation.

You see it a lot on that line, as the stations between Byfleet and Clapham Jct have formerly used platforms. Do use the word though, disembark too, never deplane
