Well, assuming Ms T and hendo go, with yourself and me sarahluv i think we can do alright. Fancy it?

if i'm going to get there for 8 i need to leave in 15 mins. i'll see who has confirmed then.

Which pub is it now - confused?

We're up for it - just need to know which pub it is..

(eta - if it's the Regent I might need to set off walking now - we've also borrowed a car so can drive to elsewhere/give lifts if necessary).

(another eta - my brain at the moment doesn't really count as a whole brain - sorry).

So I can make it but hendo's at work. Are we doing the Regent or the Bear then people?

or The Mansion - just called and they start at 8pm - we were just about to head that way thinking nothing was happening here.

(what time's The Regent start?)

Aagh! I don't know what's going on now. It's partly my fault - I've been distracted by watching Glee and didn't realise what time it was. El-Whatever, are you still up for this? Looks like Crispy and sarahluv are out.

We ended up going to the Mansion - myself and gaijinboy*

It was really nice. £2 to play. 1st prize was £60, 2nd prize a bottle of wine and everyone got a raffle ticket with a prize of a meal for two. The quiz format was pretty good and actually quite easy. Gb and I didn't do especially well just the two of us, but with your average urban team I reckon we'd have won or at least come up the top somewhere.

We also had some food whilst there which was quite good. It was just full enough - comfortably full - but that's probably 'cos it's January, I bet it can get pretty crowded. The quiz master was good and the bar service/table service was excellent. People around us were friendly and chatty.

Sorry - didn't pay attention to beers as I'm not drinking, so couldn't say what they have for proper beer enthusiasts.

It's definitely not as "normal, everyday pub" as the Elm Park and is decorated more like a gastropub (which it is), but was definitely less crowded and competitive than the Prince Regent. They don't sell crisps - only poncey nuts and olives... Anyway, plenty for people to slag off in the poncey pub stakes but overall it was quite a nice quiz I thought.

*(sorry Ms T and Biddly - after talking to you Ms T gaijinboy was all like "but I was really looking forward to it" so we went anyway)

Monday nights there's a Rough Trade quiz at the popular Lexington in Islington. Entrance fee only £1 per team member. Six rounds which vary each week, include pot luck, audio round, specialist themed rounds, pictures, lyrics, trivia, Catchphrase, Badly Drawing Boy, Blockbusters and always finishing off with the slightly rubbish live music round! PRIZES to be won each week include Rough Trade Shop gift vouchers and free booze.

So who's up for it?!

when does a pub quizz normally start? (wants to contribute something so thread will show up on my userCP)

About the Sunday quiz in The Rest Is Noise; the questions were (mostly) shit, and the guy running it was so full of himself it was fucking unbelievable.
