let's see if we can get a list going so whenever we want to go out and feel clever we can consult this easy guide to where to defeat local thickies:

Tuesdays: The Prince Regent (possible spods)
Tuesday: Bear, Camberwell
Tuesdays: Mansion, Gypsy Hill
Tuesday: Mango Landing
Wednesday: Sun And Doves (warning: spods)
Thursday: Elm Park Tavern
Thursday: Half Moon
Thursday; Trinity
Thursday: Cambria
Thursday (monthly?) 12th: Hand In Hand
Sunday: The Rest Is Noise

Now you.

How do you spell the plural of quiz anyway? i'm going with two cos it blates looked wrong with one.

That's the one I was going to say. I* won that first time I went.

*with the two other people on my** team.

** the team. I was the third member, in truth.

Elm park Tavern and Half Moon both have them. Don't recall the nights.

Yeah, we won the half moon one when we went didn't we? what night was that.... might have been monday.

mrs m, do you still do your incredibly difficult sunday afternoon one in the albert?

The Trinity on Thursdays. I went once and it was good fun. I think Mango Landing might have one too.

Nah, not for about a year. I just have too much else to do. I compiled it from books and so forth rather than a 'bought-in' quiz and it just stopped being fun because I felt so pushed for time generally. I still set quizzes though but for one-off charity stuff. I did do one when my aged Ma came to stay who can't manage pub quizzes anymore but used to be in a really serious local team.

More on the Brixton/Camberwell border than Brixton 'proper':

Wednesdays: Sun and Doves, Coldharbour Lane, 8pm http://www.sunanddoves.co.uk/quiz/ - reasonable quiz but often tables full of doctors and other clever people from the hospital so quite competitive

Thursdays: Cambria, Kemerton Road, 8pm http://www.thecambrialondon.com - slightly more informal and fun with better quizmaster

Nearby in Camberwell:
Tuesdays: Bear, Camberwell Station Road, 8pm - good general quiz

Also I think there is still one at the Phoenix by Denmark Hill station on Sundays and the Castle on Camberwell Church Street has one but I cant remember the night

We can deal with the borders. That's a nice list. We could beat the thickies somewhere different every thursday for weeks. Or be beaten by the spods, depending on whose on the team. *looks at fogbat*

The Trinity quiz is shit and I say that as someone who won on the only occasion I did it!!

And fucking annoying if you're in there and not interested in the quiz - takes over the whole pub.

Hahaha he's missed this and will see it weeks later and be all  about it :D

Also easy bus rides away..

Monday - The Commercial, Herne Hill (last time we did this it was quite easy)
Thursday - The Park, West Norwood

Not many thickies at the Prince Regent one, I'm afraid.
Went to the Prince Regent one last night. Definitely a few spods around, but good fun. Very popular and the winning team usually gets over £100. They deduct points if the team has more than 6 members too.
