Kids are going to their dads tonight, so something that requires minimum effort... :hmm: ...I've got some Tescos mushroom burgers in the freezer, so maybe one of those in half a pitta bread, with some lettuce and a slice of processed cheese - or I might take some king prawns and calamari out of the freezer and have a thai noodle soup (a bit more effort, but still not much tbf).

I've still got the sticky toffee puddings in the fridge, too..... :hmm:  :D :hmm:

Are you going to bbq your hand, MG?

Or maybe your head?

Or a wardrobe, or a sock? :hmm:

Or are you going to bbq a bbq?!?

I reckon your head would be best.

Lasagne, a really special one with ricotta cheese for the top. Question: do i make a bechemal sauce as well and mix the ricotta with it?? i never used it on a lasagne before.:hmm:

that's because you live in a wonderfully simplified world of cartoon violence, allotments, cheesy footballs and cheap lager, sheo.

i, on the other hand, will be enjoying an afternoon of civilised, witty conversation, potato salad (with chives in!) and agreeable, well-chosen wines to go with the sophisticated grilled foods we will be enjoying.

sheo's world sounds like better fun!:p:cool:

I'm off out for a hen do laters and have a table booked at a Mexican place in B'ham...just don't know where. So Mexican food and tequila...:)

Quiche, a jacket spud maybe, the rest of the new spuds from the garden, some salad including toms from the garden  cottage cheese and odds & sods of summer tea goodies from the fridge.

Last night was frikadellen burger things, savoy cabbage, garden spuds and Madeira gravy.

If it's still open when you get back, I'd recommend Tasty K's Roti Shack/Buxton Spice opposite the Rec instead. I'm biased - it's Guyanese after all - but the food's more like gutsy home cooking than Bamboulla.

Worty it for the roti alone. They'll cook a beautiful dahl puri/chana roti in front of you, which is reason enough to visit in my book.

Veggie food? sorry can't do it *shudders*

I do drop by the caravan when I can, was there today. Problem with most places by the rec is they've either run out of what I want or are shut by the time I get there during the week.

Am in for a treat in this house this evening, we're having an alfresco tapas type thing.

Mrs has made her own bread (Generro I think it's called) with grated itialian cheese and ham mixed into the dough  and cooked in teracota pots, + she's done 2 twistd loafs.

Also have some gorgeous meatballs with a lovely tomatoe sauce, there's only 9 meat balls left.

We have 2 sliced piri pir chicken breasts with red pepper and tomatoe which was simmered in a lovely Muscadet, I made it y/day

There's also some beef and potatoe curry mrs's mam made last week, about half a plastic takeaway containers worth.

Finally a lovely creamy tagliatelle (sp), with some lovely cured ham.

Accompanied by some lovely corn on the cob.

Sounds like a lot maybe, but there's just enough for a nice mixed spread.

Carry on experimenting with cocktails in the meantime and a cpl of spliffs for a nice munch.

w00t.
