What's for tea tonight? (#8)

Risotto of roasted butternut squash, sage and crispy bacon.

Maybe a teaspoon of nutella for pudding to satisfy my chocolate craving....

I've got a bit of lamb that someone gave us. It's basically a big bit of fat with a bit of meat on it but if I slow cook it it might be alright. I'll do some mini roast potatoes and lots of veg and pretend it's a roast.

Veggie hotdogs in buns with mustard and fried onions. With rocket and little gem, tomatoes and waffffer-thin fennel.
I didn't know you could get veggie hotdogs. Do they sell them in supermarkets then?

We're on veggie tagine and plain cous cous tonight. Using dried chickpeas soaked overnight (dried ones are soo much nuttier and better flavoured), aubergines, courgettes, onions, garlic, red and green peppers, spuds, tins of toms and some lovely lovely harissa paste. Can't wait.

Probably chilli if I can be arsed or spag bol. Something with mince anyway as I remembered to get it out of the freezer.

Tesco do veggie hot dogs, they'll be with their other meat free frozen stuff.
You can cook them from frozen in about 3 minutes. We've always got a pack in the freezer, excellent for feeding hungry kids (or adults).

Going out for lunch today so tea tonight will probably be poached egg on toast.

But I really want your dinner now, sounds lush. : )

Last night was spaghetti in tomato sauce, with veggie hot dogs for the littluns and meatballs for us.

Tonight is chippy tea in front of the footy. Lamb shish keeeeeeeeeeeeeeeebab for me.

Breaded fish, french fries and peas. Followed by strawberries, meringue and creme fraiche

We had strawberries, meringues and cream. Half price in Marks.

They had Percy Pigs at the checkout reduced to 80p. I picked up a bag for the kids (and so that I could have one) but I was 10p short of the total bill so I had to put them back. :(

Spag, tomato/mascarpone sauce, a couple of last nights veggie sausages chucked on. Malteser icecreams.

My tea was LUSH!
Sliced Aubergine with a feta, chilli and mint breadcrumb crust, fried and served with a green leaf, feta, cherry tomato and red onion salad.
A lemon curd yoghurt and a big pat on the back for pudding :D

Moose - i mis read your tea as sausages cut up on malteser ice cream - an alternative to chocolate sprinkles!

I am getting a wee bit sick of 'how many different ways can you cook the same 5 ingredients from Iceland', though. May have to investigate meals that still cost less than a fiver for several servings and don't involve quorn mince, lentils, chickpeas, frozen spinach, or broccoli. Or pasta and tinned tomatoes. Hmmm. :hmm:
I've got a slow cooker, might try finding some tough cuts from the butchers and making a day-long stew.

Foamy...are those the Tesco finest lemon curd yoghurts? I reckon they might well be my favourite yoghurts EVER...omg

Trouble is..coming in packs of four...inevitably they do two puddings for the kids and I never get more than a mouthful from each of theirs myself
It's like torture :(

Still not quite sure what to do for tonight...my daughter and I decided on chicken and broc stir fry with rice for me and noodles for them but I don't really fancy it :hmm:
Will have to have a rummage in the freezer....
