Not me normally either, but I didn't have any potatoes.
I had summat else in the end anyway. A sort of sausage and pasta bake type thing with lots of cheese.

Hmmm that sounds better :)

Took the last hunk of chinese pork belly out of the freezer to make a noodle soup with....will have broccoli and sugar snap peas in it too.
More strawberries and cream for pudding.

Oh well, daughter ended up going out all night last night so we got lashed on wine, got rude, and had a scrummy tea of roast field mushrooms (with a couple of portobellos in there cos they were going cheap) with roast onions and garlic, and I used orzo for the first time - just mixed pesto in with it and it was a lovely accompaniment to the mushrooms etc

Shop bought pizza (thin crust, cheese/tomato sauce/peppers/mushrooms/onions, FYI Badgers), ale.

Fucking horrible hard work day today...I remain unrepentant.

pan fried potatos & lardons in cream/mustard sauce, stir fry aubergine and onions in sake, garlic, soy, sesame oil... if the missus ever leaves the office

*blows own trumpet*

I started the original, years ago and it's one of the biggest longest running threads. I started it cos I am absolutely obsessed with food, with creating it and eating it. It's pretty much the first thing I think about when I wake up, and I bloody love that there are loads of people on here like me, cos it's dead handy sometimes for inspiration and it's nice to share an obsession :D

I've been thinking about why I like this thread so much...there's something about it that's very soothing and domestic and homely. I remember nearly freaking out on a bus once and being sure I was going to have to get off and walk (panic) and then opening this thread as a distraction method, thinking about what I was going to cook later, and calming down. It just feels really wholesome and nice. Which is sometimes exactly what you want. Like the shipping forecast in a thread.

Also, I've only relatively recently started to cook for myself properly, so the thread is a good repository of recipes. Far better than most cook books because things written about here bear much more of a resemblance to reality. I grew up eating quite unhealthy food at odd hours (parents were both shift workers), continued eating very poorly for ages afterwards (first too much then too little) so it's also nice useful to see what normal, healthy cooking/eating patterns are like.

a kind of made up curry type dish, with onion, tomatoes, courgette, peppers, carrots, some tikka masala paste, kidney beans and a bit of yoghurt. Served with rice. Was rather yum if i do say so myself. Although having never used curry paste stuff before, think i over did it a bit and ended it up with alot of it all overy my face and down my top...... :hmm: ........ good thing i live alone really :D

Pizza was shit  I shoulda known better than to buy veggie pizza from a supermarket - if you're going dirty and cheap, you should go all the way and go for pepperoni (like my son's one, which was delicious).

Also should not have been watching Two Greedy Italians while eating a shit shop bought pizza

Tonight I had cereal but last night, omg, I had the best meal I've had in years! The lovely pfft took me out to tea in London. I had moules marinaire to start, linguine with mussels and king prawns for main and creme brulee for pudding. I'm still full!

Pork steaks, waffles, veg and heaps of apple sauce, followed by a chocolate m&s thingy.

Am now thinking it's been an age since i had a pizza.

^^^^

OMG, moonsi's gonna be over you like a rash!!!!!  :(

Just me and my son tonight (probably :hmm: ) so we're having SEAFOOD  king prawns and squid in a tomato sauce with linguine and some broccoli.
Dunno about pudding....might take some cake out of the freezer.... :hmm:

ETA - Found a lump of raspberry and almond cake...so that
