What's for tea tonight? (#8)

Last night we had Pork, roast spuds, honey rosat beetroot, sprouts with bacon and walnuts, stuffing, treacle sponge and custard. Yum!

Tonight, as I am going straight to rehearsal, will be a more meagre low-fat chicken and stuffing sarnie plus a bag of quavers!

Poached egg on a bed of spinach, on toast. Amazing how the addition of spinach and different cooking method elevated the humble fried egg sandwich to a whole new level :D

I've been poncing my egg on toast up a bit recently too. Poaching them and serving on a bed of gently fried red onions on toast, sometimes with big buttery mushrooms and parsley. I'll try spinach the next time :)

well I'm tempted to do veggie toad in the hole after reading the English cooking thread but in reality I'll probably be too tired to cook anything - so whatever gaijinboy cooks up - probably quiche and salad.

Beans on toast. And tomorrow. And Wednesday.

Luckily, pay day on Thursday. I'm going to treat my lady to the best steak sandwich ever.

Meant to be having pesto spaghetti (that chunky square stuff) with olives n that, but it's not exciting is it?

But then I can't be arsed cooking much either.

Hmmmm.

I cooked quail only once (they were really tiny and without very much meat, so never thought it worth the fuss to cook again) and they went well with potato dauphinois.

yeh I had potato dauphinois last night :( :D Yummy though!

Ta biddly, I guess spring/summer is more fish season....or lamb?? :D

It's Monday so it must be jacket potato night.
Topped with leeks and the last of the smoked stilton, green salad on the side.

I had a pepper stuffed with lamb and rice, which Kameron made on Saturday night. It was utterly delicious. Possibly even more so than when we first ate them. With a rocket and pine nut salad. Yum yum.

And then a shameful huge bar of dairy milk.

Aldi goat cheese crackers and wine.
Aldi purple sprouting broccoli - lightly stir-fried with soy sauce and wine
baked potato, butter and soy sauce ... and wine.

Made meself some pasta. Boiled wholewheat fusili, then let it drain and put olive oil and garlic in a pan, then a bunch of baby plum tomatoes, baby spinach, then when it was nice and chunky sauce-like, added some chunks of cooked chicken breast, black pepper, salt, a touch of sugar, a glug of worcestershire sauce, and finished with some cheese sprinkled on top (didn't have parmesan, dammit, so used strong cheddar). Made enough for tomorrow too.

A noodle soup made with some of the leftover chinese pork belly I did on Sunday, errrr *noodles* obv :hmm: beansprouts, pak choi, broccoli and spring onion....and my mum's down for the day so she's bringing scones and clotted cream for pudding....
