Fish pie topped with mashed celeriac. Mashed celeriac doesn't really work, it just sort of disappeared into the sauce. With leeks. It's not bad but yeah.
What else mashes successfully that isn't potato or otherwise carb heavy?
If you want a carb free version, I strongly recommend don't think of it as a fish pie - just do it as a potatoless fish mornay/gratin type thing (which is utterly delicious in its own right) and serve it with some steamed veg on the side, forget the topping.
