Lazy post-jiu jitsu ready meal tonight. Either braemar or balmoral chicken (can't remember which one I bought), jacket spud pre-microwaved before I go out so it doesn't take ages, smug homegrown spring greens.

Very disappointing dinner out in Spain. Restaurant looked lovely and had a big vegan menu for MrShakes, but they were chaotic… waiter advised me to order my steak medium and it would come fairly rare.. it arrived overcooked and cold and when I sent it back they’d clearly chucked it back on the grill.. everyone else said their meal was average.. they also stacked loads of glasses perilously on a table right by the exit to the loo, which I brushed past and they all tumbled to the ground and smashed. The waiter said it has happened before!

Tbf I have considered/flirted with the idea over the years, I would love to actually. If we’re ever having them at a family do it’s my role + I make one for Mrs Numbers any day she goes into the office

We are going out for a big late Moroccan lunch, so no dinner. Friends making tortilla if we want to snack on it.. I’m eying up leg of lamb for lunch

A gravy drizzle would have been the cherry on top but it did have a mayonnaise spread and salad cream spread on the different slices so sufficiently moistened.

Had a hankering for yellow split pea soup,so made a huge vat of it for early tea before visiting me Ma Outlaw. That, with a slab of home-baked wholemeal.

Fruitcake and a decaff coffee for afters.

I'm doing a chicken cacciatore for myself, and it's very little effort to do a version for N at the same time using veggie sausages.
Will be served with either pasta or rice.

That's what I ended up having, with chips and a cup of tea. I don't normally do burgers, but my local chippie makes a really juicy one. I'm just about to have some cans of Carlsberg and then a couple of Cadbury Turkish Delight bars (Irish import) before I turn in for the night.

Ramen tonight - each with our own preferred bits. Soft boiled egg, noodles sweetcorn, wakame, beansprouts, thinly sliced beef, menma, daikon, furikake.

I keep forgetting that I have loads and loads of chocolate and biscuit treats left over from Xmas, this post has reminded me.
I'll be having some chocolates for afters!

(N rinsed through his share of Xmas treats before the end of December, I put mine somewhere he won't find them and make it last half the year!)

Pork vindaloo. I don't normally buy jars of sauce/paste, but I was getting rice from the Indian supermarket near me and it was very cheap and short dated. I'm hoping as it's brand I've never heard of that it will taste more interesting then one of the generic ones from the supermarket.

I don't think I've seen a sarnie related post from you that could be described as something simple, saying you're going to have a sarnie just raises questions about what fillings, what bread, because we know it's unlikely to be boring or just a sarnie

Well that was disappointingly bland. Need to pimp it a bit more I think. Mushroom ketchup and some more fried onions and garlic, plus some fresh parsley.

Just polished off this little simple sangwich - Triple cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, Boursin) & Chardonnay wine fondue bites on a single traditional white slice.

Cream of chicken soup, seasoned to taste with sliced pan & butter followed by a gorgeous 32-day matured rib eye stake cooked medium to well done, with buttered potatoes, beans, onions & garlic & to complement it a fine extra strong stout, finished with my favourite red wine & dark chocolate
