What's for tea tonight? (#8)

Chips for me and the small, she vetoed the casserole when realised I was having chips 😄😄 I absolutely love a ham hock, if I do a roasted one, I have to be watched or I will eat a large portion of it before it makes it to the table. My nan used to cook shredded cabbage in the ham hock water (if she wasn't making soup) and I would eat bowls and bowls of it.
 
I haven't thought what is for my tea tonight and I need to go make it about now. I have eggs, breaded bass, some fishfingers, frozen veg, a lot of mature cheddar, and some yogurt. I might have scrambled eggs, haven't eaten eggs for a while. Not really proper tea food though.

I didn’t sort anything for dinner as I was meeting a friend but he’s not well. Mr Looby had already eaten so I’ve just had some cheesy bread and butter and a couple of sausage rolls. I’m now eating maltesers.

Not quite the nandos halloumi and spicy rice I was hoping for but much cheaper.
 
Actually am really tired tonight (was up really early to meet OH on his way home from work to go grocery shopping) and as I had a very satisfying lunch I've decided to skip tea this evening and have an early night - the food will still be there at breakfast or lunch time tomorrow when I have energy to cook and eat and feel hungry!
 
The pea and ham soup was overly salty, which is mildly disappointing. Should have given the ham a quick boil first and then discarded that water and then put the ham in the slow cooker. Never mind.

Tonight I'm doing a stifado and orzo stew. Not done it before but looking forward to it.

I'm going retro with chicken chasseur served with rice and a bit of baguette.
Will also do some avocado/tomato based salad.

Am not going to make the same mistake as last night though and leave it late enough so that I start feeling tired before I've even made a start, so will plan to eat fairly early.
