What's for tea tonight? (#8)

I made some baked beans with some of the gigantic sack of black eyed beans I got the other week, and we ate them with sausages and cabbage.20200324_180046.jpg

On our afternoon walk today I found a local source of wild garlic too, which I've just blended up with some more black eyed beans, some lemon juice and some olive oil and made a delicious puree which I'll probably eat with pitta breads and whatnot tomorrow

I also made a banana loaf, which were about to have for pudding. :)

I'm trying to be sensible and use up the stuff that needs using first.

So tonight is aubgerine, in a tomato sauce, flavoured with chilli, ras al hanout, dried lime and wild garlic. On top of red rice (bought in the whoopsies last year and forgotton about at the back of a cupboard  ), with pomegranete, cumin and sundried toms. Plus a side dressing made from buttermilk garlic, olive oil and zaatar.

A very red dinner and there should be enough aubergine left over for my lunch tomorrow

Roast chicken with roast potatoes, roast onions, carrots, broccoli, peas and gravy.
I'm making Yorkshire puddings as well in a couple of cake tins. :hmm:

I saw chickens in Lidl yesterday, they had loads - I very nearly bought one but already had a weeks worth of food planned out/bought so didn't - I wish I had though

I had not very brilliant lasagne for the third night running. Having had not very brilliant soup for lunch, for the second day running. Maybe tomorrow I'll have the lasagne for lunch and the soup for dinner, just for a change

I suppose I could put the rest of the soup in the freezer and inflict it on my future self instead...

my kind on meal Saffy!

dinner for me will be leftover penne pasta with meat sauce + chicken lemon rice soup

The only chicken available was drumsticks and thighs.
So I made a bug pot of curry sauce and kept the chicken on the bone.
Turned out very tasty if a little slippery with rendered chicken fat.
Added chickpeas and sweet corn and then mixed the whole lot into the rice.
It was very tasty.

Ordered a vegan hipster pizza and it was delicious but by the time it came I was starving and just inhaled it rather than savouring it as I should have done. Plus some fennel salad and a few frozen raspberries with yoghurt.
