What's for tea tonight? (#8)

I've been in the pub with keiths while he cooks. Just had some sort of chicken tikka and I've got no idea what sort of curry is to follow. Hungry and can't see.

I'm camping for next 3 meals but got them planned like a good tea-timer should. Tonight is veggie bol with fusili pasta (for ease and to stop it sticking together outside) with garlic bread. Plus cider & brandy hot chocs & this new to me Firebrand whisky.

Saturday: veggie chilli with rice, nachos, garlic bread and potatoes done in the fire. Drinks as above.

Sunday: We are doing a Sunday dinner thing and as with all the meals it is communal eating and we all bring something to the table to share. I have made a green lentil Shepherds type pie with sweet potato mash topping and mature cheddar cheese plus cauliflower cheese & green beans. Drinks as above.

How you going to heat that up? :hmm:

Campervan has a oven... There are about 30 adults going in a mixture of tents/vans and one caravan. Between us we have 5 ovens.

Had a chippy tea for the first time in ages last night - split and a fish. Lovely.

Tonight just boring baked spuds, cheese and beans.

chicken and pea risotto with salad. i'm having the chicken flown in by emergency delivery  i refused the offer of half a bottle of wine to go with it so i have an excuse to buy a whole bottle and drink the rest :hmm:

We are having a (late lunch) ROAST! On a Saturday!!! Roast chicken, cauli cheese, yorkshires (YES, I KNOW! ), roast potatoes, asparagus, gravy and bread sauce.

And I think I've got some mini apple crumble things in the freezer :hmm: so will have them later with some clotted cream ice cream.

Yesterday we had a chinese to celebrate the fact that I hadn't completely fucked up and left it way too late to apply for my horticulture course after all (PHEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!)! :D

Fuck sake  the apple crumbles can only be cooked in a microwave  ...how the fuck did I miss that when I bought them?!  SOOOOOO......gonna be banana and frozen berry ice cream milkshakes for pudding instead.

That's not a bad Plan B, in all fairness. I've got a shoulder of pork to roast at some point this weekend but I can't be arsed today. Might have a Chinese later tonight to accompany the beer and football.

i bet if you have similar sized pots you can decant them and do in the oven. microwave only stuff is usually cos the plastic melts ime. ewww can you imagine how soggy they'd be microwaved :(

Yeah - I could try that :hmm: (I do fancy HOT STODGE today!) - and yeah, I know microwaved CRUMBLE! Rank!!!

Having said that my son was 40 minutes late back from his mates (not entirely his fault - especially seeing as how I practically forced him to go in the first place, too :p ) so dinner was a bit fucked and I'm not sure I can face a possible repeat performance for pudding, today....*sigh*

I did notice there was some Angel D in the cupboard, too :hmm: - butterscotch!

Not that that's hot and stodgy either....BAH!

No, Callie. Definitely NOT! DON'T MAKE ME DO IT! :(

I'm vaguely considering making some choc melting middle puddings now  ....but CAN'T BE ARSED TO DO ANYMORE COOKING!
