What's for tea tonight? (#8)

That's the go-to, but I fancy something different. Was thinking of doing them as an accompaniment, but to what? Hmmmmm

sounds excellent! i had asparagus with krom bi l'ham marhi last night. that's nice too.
it sounds like something out of dune, but it's just sauteed cabbage with minced lamb, cumin, paprika, pepper and garlic and shitloads of butter.
it's well nice

How is that aioli? You need to make mayonnaise, surely, so there should be an egg yolk or two in there.

Allioli is just garlic pounded with salt and oil. It's a Catalan sauce and has no egg yolk in at all. Besides, garlic has an emulsifying agent within it, so it looks just like a mayonnaise, but less fattening than a mayonnaise with egg yolk/oil in it ;)

no, anyway, allioli lis really easy to make. just pound the garlic with salt in a mortar and add olive oil.
pay attention! i was talking about hollandaise. never heard of allioli, think truxta's talking about aoili, which is french garlic mayonnaise, which i would never make, let alone buy.

Chicken and mushroom korma with basmati rice. Not cooked from scratch (for once). At last there's a premade (you still need to add a bit of liquid and then heat it up with the meat or veg in it) curry sauce I can safely use  and it tastes like a real homemade curry too, instead of like gloop.

so my lovely boyfriend cooked pork chops with apple and stilton and crushed potatoes with rocket and lemon.

Macaroni cheese. I've heard these rumours about bacon being a good ingredient to add, might have to give that a go. Not sure we've got any in though. I did spot a Spanish cured ham, chorizo selection in the fridge, would any of that do or is it better with fried bacon?
