What's for tea tonight? (#8)

Dunno. Leftovers tea for one, I suspect. Probably a pitta with some butternut squash hummus, followed by BBQ chicken and salad.

Last night was velveted chicken with asparagus and rice - was delish.

Mmm sounds good ringo - got the recipe for that?

Here you go, reckon it would be even better with fresh coriander.

Mushroom masala in cream & tomato sauce

1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 onion
2 cloves garlic
2 hot chillis
500g sliced mushrooms
1 tin chopped tomatoes
1 tsp garam masala
A pinch of salt
1/2 tsp ground coriander
2 dsp creme freche

Heat the oil and fry the onions until soft.
Add garlic and chillis, fry for 1 minute.
Add mushrooms and cook 5 mins.
Stir in tomatoes, garam masala, salt & coriander and cook until reduced to a very thick sauce.
Just before serving stir in creme freche and heat through.

Serves 2 or 3, good with dal and rice/chapati.

I shall bookmark this as my BF loves mushrooms and until recently I wasn't so keen. At present I can't get enough of whole button mushrooms.

Half a baguette with salami, chorizo, pickled chillis and mustard. And an apple as a sarcastic nod towards that thing known as a healthy lifestyle.

Seak and salad, followed by a coconut yoghurt.
Did you hide the salad before seeking it?!

Tonight we had penne with bacon and peas in a chilli lemon cream sauce.
Actual bananas and ice cream for pudding instead of last nights lame attempt which ended up being melon with no ice cream!

Spinach pie. Mmmmmm, tasty. Bit heavy on the cheese though, considering my attempt to cut down on the fat in my diet. Hey ho.

A recipe I invented in my sleep on Sunday night and felt I had to try: brown rice salad with alfalfa sprouts and a peanut butter dressing. It's not bad. I'm not normally that much of a hippy.

mozarella pizza with balconybasil, white wine and lemonade, and tramps buffet pancakes and syrup for afters :)

Wifey made pork in a cream/cider and mushroom sauce. New potatoes on the side. It was delicious, I could have two plates :)

thinking about dinner already, again

hot smoked peppered mackrel with lentilysalady thing, I reckon. The boy's coming home today so it's a treat for him :)

I don't know....I'm going for tea (I normally have dinner...it's a time thing for me) at my friends at 5pm who has 6 yr twins (one of each). I'm really looking forward to the table chaos that is there everyday but gets notched up when there is a guest.

I will be taking homemade choc chip muffins for pudding. Mt friend also has a cat called Pudding.

Broccoli and tomato quiche which I was gonna do with mixed veg rice, but am gonna be mad busy finding camping shit tonight, so will probably have with a packet of flavoured couscous instead. maybe some salad.

Spaghetti carbonara. Made in the proper way, with bacon, eggs, parmesan and black pepper. No mushrooms or cream.
