What's for tea tonight? (#8)

What flavour of van is that ringo? Me and the fella are thinking we might get one next year and that looks the sort of size we were thinking of.
It's a Nissan Elgrand. Looked at VW's but didn't want something too old that would need constant work and couldn't spend £40,000 on a newer one. Thought about a Mazda Bongo but they're a little small for 4 and as they haven't been made for 12 years they're all getting old. The importers are switching to these and the Toyota Alphard as the next ones to import and convert. They're used as VIP people carriers so have high end engines, electronics, interiors etc so are really nice.

Cheers  That place is conveniently close to my MILs so might take a look when we're there next.

Wholemeal pasta in sauce made with tinned tomatoes, cherry toms, aubergine, onion, garlic, chilli pepper, balsamic vinegar, basil & parsley with some shredded mozzarella mixed in.

Yesterday was southern chicken fillet burgers in baps with lettuce and mayo for the kids and a seeded roll with crab pate and avocado plus lots of wine for me. My daughter went off a bit later for a weekend away and I realised after she'd gone that I forgot to give her the two toffee cream doughnuts I'd got for her and her friend - and the use by date was yesterday so..... :hmm:

Anyway, her not being here means that we shall be dining on FISH tonight!
A seafood stew, with dory, salmon, squid, mussels and fennel and the stock I made from the shells of the crevettes we had the other week...and then we'll have the cream meringues that were supposed to be for us last night.

Home made burgers - we split the mince meat into two and are having a competition about whose burgers are the best. Big salad. Cauliflower "mash". Homemade hummus (I spent half an hour this morning taking all the skins off to make it extra smooth). Melon. Can't wait!
