What's for tea tonight? (#8)

If anyone needs an excuse to have a drink tonight, DO, its Patricks day!

Not sure what I'll be eating, attending a pal's 40th. Will report back later!

I'm not how "clean" Falfal is given they're fried in a fair bit of oil, but yeah was good. My red cabbage sourkraut with chilli is ready now. Speed we're going through the stuff I'm going to have to put another batch on soon.

Dunno tonight bc I'm going to an event at the place where I volunteer, and it starts at 7pm. I was thinking about red pesto with pasta but it's so boring :/ I want treat food!

I've done some batch cooking today... lamb saag for Sunday* and chorizo squash and bean chilli for the freezer.

Have no appetite today though, so falafel and salad in a pitta for me. Salami sandwich for the girl.

* I've got to make kachumber haven't I? :D how much vinegar goes in Thimble Queen?

Not loads... I do it by taste so if I use four tomatoes, a third of cucumber and two small onions then I start with just less than a cap full stir it, taste it and then add a bit more. A generous sprinkle of sea salt and usually add more sea salt to the top and as much chilli as I can handle

Last week (ok, month) crumble, this week kachumber! :D

No word of a lie - on my menu plan for next Monday (a fast day), I have red snapper with cucumber, tomato and onion salsa :hmm: - but it'd be rude not to tweak it and conform to the tea thread regs, eh

My boy has gone off to a party, my daughter has had crisps and PB toast and white chocolate chip cookies and an éclair and a huge bowl of grapes and I'm making a coconut fish curry with basmati to feed myself - and my son when he gets in. Wine first and crisps and a cream doughnut after.

What no kachumber?! :hmm:

That was BEGGING for kachumber!

I got my Tesco delivery today and I accidentally ordered one and a half cucumbers and we already have a half in
My daughter likes cucumber sticks in her packed lunches sometimes and her hamster likes cucumber more than just about anything in the WHOLE WORLD ((( hamsters unexciting lives :( ))) but all the same, TWO cucumbers is quite a lot to get through (hamsters being quite small).
I also have one and a half punnets of baby plum tomatoes and a load of shallots to use AND a massive bottle of malt vinegar.
My girl will now tolerate some low level chilli and my boy a fair bit more than her.
Best week ever for kachumber week here, tbf! :D

Yes mate!!!! That's a weekends worth of kachumber ❤❤❤❤

Pork loin medallion with onion & apple gravy, baked chunks of sweet potato, steamed broccoli and spring greens.

This again. Might do creamy leeks (mix of quark and garlic & herb cheese spread since that's what I've got in) to go with it.

Garlic/ginger/soy/five spice chicken wings with oven chips and psb.
I didn't have my cream cake last night and nor did my boy so there are still three left for pudding later

Incidentally the Ambala samosas are lovely. They're mostly mashed potato and the pastry is flaky, not the filo type. There's a branch in Tooting and I've switched my samosa allegiance now from Pooja.
