Aubergine / saffron omelette, aubergine cheesecake, raw root veg salad, blackened sweetcorn coleslaw, "sort of Waldorf," and some multi-layered banter with the in-laws!
Veggie option:
Non-veggie option:
The veggie version is actually pointless, as the wife won't eat dressing. So she had a plate of undressed raw vegetables, plus some nachos. (I wasn't officially cooking, just made a couple of sides I'd been intending to make anyhows).
I had lots of curry. There was beetroot, butternut squash, chaana & paneer with spinach & mushroom with rice and nan from the 4 fresh nan for £1 place. Ooh had mango chutney too. It was all lush.
Last night - kids had reheated breaded cod from work, in buttered bread with lettuce and mayo, crisps and pop and then Tesco finest millionaire's shortbread pudding things which are SO delicious (I only had a mouthful of each of theirs as they were bought to make up for the fact that the last time I got em in, I ate them both myself ). I had wine, two mini pork pies, crisps and a box of Mikado King.
Doing crispy chinese pork belly today with rice and steamed pak choi with oyster sauce. Last of the mini hot cross buns for pudding.
Dunno yet. Fella's gone out for a gig, and I'm making lentil soup with fresh parsley and lard ons for my Dad. Might nick a bowl of that and have it with chips later.
Orrrr, there's jacket spuds with tuna and mayo, but then I have to fight off two wailing cats during preparation and eating
Orrrr, maybe a simple spaghetti tossed in garlic/chilli/olive oil, with olives, sundried toms, parmesan and perhaps a few toasted pine nuts. Mmm.
I've got an extra tiddler over to watch Sing and then for a sleepover while everyone else goes out and gets completely wasted. Where did my life go wrong?
Luckily we're having dough balls then getting pizza delivered and I have very good wine.
We're sharing a finest meal for two - pesto crumbed chicken (kiev type things), salt and pepper chips and lots of asparagus and psb to bulk it out and then we're definitely, DEFINITELY having the salted caramel sponge pudding, that I've been trying to get used since Xmas, with custard.
We're having another go at last week's inedible curry. This time I'm leaving out the fish sauce because it was way too salty and the tamarind because I don't have any. I'm thinking about adding some coconut milk at the end but that might be weird. I have no idea what I'm doing really, I've just shoved it all in a casserole dish. [emoji53]
Pork and apple sausages, baby spuds with butter, kale with cream and garlic oil. Fried onions for the sausages and roast beef gravy (from a packet). Dessert is rice pudding.
