What's for tea tonight? (#8)

I'm having a proper meal that I went out and bought ingredients for and cooked from a recipe, instead of my usual combination of reduced stuff that needs using. A guy I train with is a chef and does a food blog thing that I said I'd mention in a mini interview-type thing I'm doing, so I made a couple of things to take with me and he made me some protein flapjack for when I'm competing tomorrow.
Tonight's tea is freekeh salad (freekeh, almonds, pumpkin seeds, raw broccoli, beetroot, avocado and lime juice), shredded spinach, sweet potato and chicken breast marinated in lemon and lime juice, honey and loads of spices.

Tonight ended up making a really quick pan of rice/black eyed beans/spinach, some steamed broccoli, and roasted chipolatas. Bit of an odd mix but it's odds n sods time and tasted really good, particularly with dried crushed chilis sprinkled about.

I'm making up a BBQ sauce to put on a brisket tomorrow, don't have a proper recipe, but a few I looked at called for some chilli sauce. I meant to add a few splashes of encona... my hand slipped, it was a glug!

A bit more tom puree, ketchup and honey has eased it a bit, but probably still too hot.

What else can I add?

Treacle? :hmm:

Second tea was two bags of Wotsits, a tub of smoked salmon pate spread onto Ryvita Thins, half a pound of red cherries, half a pound of cherry tomatoes, a mug of green tea and a pint of lemon & lime cordial.

Thai prawn fishcakes, mash, mushy peas, creme brulee for pud, orange and a peach. Knackered but starving so gonna cook it in ten.

I would've said a bit of yoghurt but it's probably too late now...

I took a chicken out of the freezer yesterday but it's way too hot to be stuck in the kitchen :/

Well I WAS gonna make a fennel and potato bake, and have with roast Cauldron saussies and onions, and cauliflower cheese, but it's way too warm for that, AND the fella's out til late so we won't be able to share it together.

So, I'm having roast chicken and possibly chips, maybe couscous, depends how hungry I am when the chicken's ready :D Oh, and salad. And a fuckton of mayo
