What will happen if I put icing in a cream whipper?

I'm making cupcakes and want them to look as OTT as possible.
I'd rather not clean up a sticky disaster if it can be avoided, has anyone done it? Which icing would be best?

Piping onto opal fruits?

Or melting opal fruits and then piping them onto something?

Both work for me.

I don't know but this woman I know makes THE most amazing cupcakes by piping opal fruits. They look fucking great

Piping... opal fruits? :hmm:
Soz, but WTF? Does she melt them first or something?

Have you ever had skittles vodka?

She somehow melted the opal fruits and piped them. They were beautiful. Shall I see if I can find a pic?
Yesssssss. Give her my number. She can pipe the fruity goodness straight into my mouth.

Better still she could decorate me prettily.

I would have all green.

Ive tried to rationalise your wrongness and ill considered opinions on this matter.

Ive forgiven you, chiefly because we could happily share a packet of OPs, with me enjoying the orange, yellow and strawberry sweeties and you picking up the detritus.
:)

Melinda; snatching wins always.

That works for me. I can have the best flavour always, whilst you just kid yourself with the lesser flavours.

You make the rainbow cake?? How???

The batter has to be fairly thick. You separate it into however many (say 5) different glasses, colour each lot with different food colouring, and kind of blob and swirl it into the tin. It's easy!

What's particularly impressive is the subtle shades of grey exterior, giving nothing away...

I'm telling no lies when I say I would have LOVED to be there when you made the first cut, Pip - and WOWed your guests with the colourful, psychedelic surprise within!!!!

'What the....?!?!?   '

You can make this cake by doing the same thing, but baking each layer separately :)
Using angel food cake makes the colours truer, but it's a faff.

I've got so many cake ideas up my sleeve. If it was up to me I'd make a new keraazzy cake every time I saw someone, but it takes ages to do my hair and that's usually more important.

I am going to be more friends with you.

But only because I like cake.

It's always the same :(

I'm fairly confident my my cake making partner doesn't read these boards so I'll let you in on a little secret :hmm:
For her birthday I'm making a 3D cake of her face as an Egyptian princess
I took about 15 photos of her from different angles under the pretence it would look good on Flickr, and I've been practicising modelling her nose out of marzipan :D
It would make more sense - and make me look like less of a nutter - if you knew her.
