What stupid shit has Trump done today?

It must be only his hard core support that believe anything he says so you'd think he's dissuading his own voters more than anyone.

I know this a minor thing with everything else going on, but I'm going to post on it anyway:

White House Rose Garden before Trump vs. White House Rose Garden After Trump

They removed Jackie O's crabapple trees. Removed all of the roses planted by various first ladies over the years and generally made it bland and unappealing. I'd say that it was done as payback for taking down Confederate monuments, but I've seen previous designs for the White House Christmas decorations and I see a resemblance. Anyone else remember this?

Cold and brutal is the Trump way.

Trump hasn't done it yet, but I can see him pulling out of the World Trade Organization.
The organization declared that Canada is in the right over the softwood lumber issues - America has to drop its tarriffs.

“This flawed report confirms what the United States has been saying for years: the WTO dispute settlement system is being used to shield non-market practices and harm U.S. interests,” Lighthizer said in a statement of his own.

“The panel's findings would prevent the United States from taking legitimate action in response to Canada's pervasive subsidies for its softwood lumber industry.”

The 2017 flashpoint over countervailing duties was just the latest flare-up in a cross-border trade dispute that has raged between the two countries for nearly 40 years.

Conclusive proof that all the money in the world can buy you neither class nor taste. They're innate.

Hurricane Laura is starting to look very serious - wonder if we'll see Trump delivering his acceptance speech from the White House tomorrow while insisting that hurricanes are fake news and Texas has never been in better shape.

It does look like one mean mofo, that one

I'm going to assume this just trash talk.

"Nobody thought that he was even going to win," Trump said. "Because his debate performances were so bad. Frankly, his best performance was against Bernie.

We're going to call for a drug test, by the way, because his best performance was against Bernie. It wasn't that he was Winston Churchill because he wasn't, but it was a normal, boring debate. You know, nothing amazing happened.

And we are going to call for a drug test because there's no way — you can't do that."

absolutely - sheer desperation. On the guardian's liveblog, someone counter-suggested that Biden should agree - on condition trump undergoes a psychiatric evaluation, with results of both to be made public

What is Trump suggesting? That he's on nootropics? What would be wrong with that anyway? It's unlikely that he's on recreational drugs or anything that's going to make him sleepier.

He's always mindful to stay away from high winds.

I would have been surprised if the list didn't exist.

In a statement, White House spokesperson Judd Deere accused The Washington Post of "blatantly interfering with the business relationships of the Trump Organization" and demanded "it must stop."

"Please be advised that we are building up a very large 'dossier' on the many false David Fahrenthold and others stories as they are a disgrace to journalism and the American people," Deere said.

When asked by CNN Business for further information about the dossier, Deere declined to comment. Neither White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany nor White House director of communications Alyssa Farah responded to additional emails seeking comment.
...
Fahrenthold won a Pulitzer Prize in 2017 for "casting doubt" on Trump's "generosity toward charities" in his coverage. He has also reported on Trump's businesses.

this is a surprising opinion for a socialist.
Not really, but I possibly mis-expressed myself. I was referring to kinda human qualities that transcend economic advantage. Most of the miners I worked with during the miners strike had far, far more class (and taste) than Trump will ever have. Ditto, the comrades on all those anti-austerity campaigns

you seem to have mis-expressed yourself using a classic classist slur is all.
