What stupid shit has Trump done today?

What he said was
"And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside or almost a cleaning because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it’d be interesting to check that"
and there will be people who will interpret this word soup to mean that injecting disinfectant is a good idea. Ffs have you not seen the anti-lockdown protesters and some of their signage?
Yes like I said he didn't tell people to inject bleach. Where did "bleach" even come from?

He didn't tell people to inject bleach ffs.

However the headlines saying he did say that are entirely helpful to him ffs.

He didn't say those specific words. He never says anything outright. But the words he did use were definitely saying that injecting bleach is an idea worth investigating.

Here's what he said:

"And then I see the disinfectant where it knocks it out in a minute. One minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning?

"So it'd be interesting to check that."

Pointing to his head, Mr Trump went on: "I'm not a doctor. But I'm, like, a person that has a good you-know-what."

That is definitely saying that injecting disinfectant is a good idea, and should be tried.

He's the President of the most powerful country in the world giving a press conference, not someone's grandpa rambling on a family zoom call. People have already died by following his advice re chloroquine, and they'll do the same with this. There is an extraordinary amount of faith in Trump in some people in the US - he is literally treated as if he's the second coming.

Though, since it's also a relatively popular method of committing suicide, and it would currently be easier to access than many other forms of suicide, it might be hard to tell who did it because of Trump advising them to do it to save themselves, and who did it because they saw the leader of the free world advising it and just can't deal with the whole shitshow any more.

Trump said "and then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside or almost a cleaning" straight after Homeland Security official Bill Bryan said:

We’re also testing disinfectants readily available. We’ve tested bleach, we’ve tested isopropyl alcohol on the virus specifically in saliva or in respiratory fluids and I can tell you that bleach will kill the virus in five minutes. Isopropyl alcohol will kill the virus in 30 seconds and that’s with no manipulation, no rubbing. Just bring it on and leaving it go. You rub it and it goes away even faster.{/QUOTE]

I don't think Trump was seriously suggesting that people try injecting bleach, he was just asking a lot of really stupid questions because he has no idea when to shut the fuck up. Not that Bryan would have been the one to ask anyway, his science qualification is a "Master of Science in strategic intelligence from the Joint Military Intelligence College.."

wait ..some people would say it ...but .......air burst a nuke over New York ...then the light will disinfect the city of the virus in one go ...I mean... it'll work on hurricanes , apparently!! and theres that big red button to press , even bigger than Kim wrong uns..

backed up by UV searchlights and an imperial gallon of Vaseline up the gary glitter ....

Ford can make the searchlights now that they dont need ventilators and theres all that oil going for free for the Vaseline ...the King of searchlights and Vas

just sayin' ....... for a friend in a red hat

Dr Vin Gupta, a lung specialist, told NBC News: “This notion of injecting or ingesting any type of cleansing product into the body is irresponsible and it’s dangerous. It’s a common method that people utilise when they want to kill themselves.”

John Balmes, a pulmonologist at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and a professor of medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, told Bloomberg: “The airway and lungs are not made to be exposed to even an aerosol of disinfectant.”

“Not even a low dilution of bleach or isopropyl alcohol is safe,” said Dr Balmes. “It’s a totally ridiculous concept.”

Bryan sounds like he's talking to a 4-year-old, I'm surprised he didn't praise Trump for asking a very clever question.

Bill Bryan: (35:24)
Yes, Mr. president, when it’s exposed to UV rays, take a playground equipment for example, the UV ray’s hitting a piece of playground equipment will kill the virus when it hits on the playground equipment. But underneath where the sun does not get, if someone touched that and had it on their hands, it could still be there, right? It has to be in direct light of the UV rays.

Donald Trump: (35:42)
Well, if it’s on somebody’s hands, right? And they haven’t touched their face and all of that-

Bill Bryan: (35:47)
And it’s exposed to the sun, it’ll-

Donald Trump: (35:49)
I know, but if they’re outside, right, and their hands are exposed to the sun, will that kill it as though it were a piece of metal or something else?

Bill Bryan: (35:56)
I don’t want to say it will at the same rate because it’s a non-porous surface, but what we do know is that we looked at the worst case scenario, and the virus lives longer on non-porous surfaces. So porous surfaces, it doesn’t live quite as long, so in theory what you said is correct.

Yes I saw that, on BBC news too :D

Another issue is - even if Trump loses the election - he's going to have so many people in positions of power, let alone the tens of thousands of lunatic supporters with guns, that I can't really see a lot of what he's done being reversed. Even if Biden had the will.

They've already rammed enough lifetime appointment/unqualified judges to screw us for at least the next generation. If he loses, they'll ramp that up into a production line. No one has the will to say it, but I think the US is done as a superpower and we can't really blame it on the virus.

I presume Biden could just double the number of judges if he wanted to - half of all Americans could become judges

One good thing that could happen would be for states like California to break away and become nations. I'm sure it can't happen but an attractive thought.

They had a civil war last time that was tried. What makes it such an attractive thought, anyway?

Yes fair play. They'd have fewer resources to start external wars with I was thinking. Mind you it would lead to the remaining republican states becoming even more extreme .... errrm

Yes, Trump saying that "we can do something like that by injection inside" was not at all suggesting that people inject bleach.

You're not a Trump supporter, so why are you ignoring the words he used?

That's what FDR did with the Supreme Court. Modern Democrats don't have the balls.

Regarding the ‘you-know-what’ ( :D ) - he may be referring to intelligence reports he receives. He kind of alluded that the suggestion of the virus coming from the Wuhan lab was based on such during a recent WH presser, so - yeah.

He may be referring to Dean Koontz, for all we know.

I'm with Yossarian, "we can do something like that by injection inside" could (IMO does) refer to "knock[ing] it out in one minute" rather than disinfectant. He's a moron but this is more verbal diarrhoea than a suggestion that people inject disinfectant
