do you need to disinfect a needle if it's already filled with disinfectant?
lThey actually have to tell people this
Sky News: Coronavirus: Dettol maker says disinfectant should not be ingested 'under any circumstances'.

Donald Trump suggests tests should be carried out to see if disinfectant can be used to treat COVID-19 patients.news.sky.com
I'm with Yossarian, "we can do something like that by injection inside" could (IMO does) refer to "knock[ing] it out in one minute" rather than disinfectant. He's a moron but this is more verbal diarrhoea than a suggestion that people inject disinfectant
do you need to disinfect a needle if it's already filled with disinfectant?
Yes, but not injecting disinfectant rather an injection of some magic serum that will "knock [COVID-19] out in one minute", like disinfectant does to the virus on surfaces. How?? The meanings of those two sentences have nothing in common. What on earth could injection inside mean apart from, well, injecting stuff inside people?
that's kind of the gagNot much point given the patient will die anyway.
Hmm. "Blows Chunks" thinker, more like. What you don't understand is, Trump's a "Big Chunk" thinker
He leaves the "details" to the little people - but he's the one who had the breakthrough thought

I don't think disinfectant will work. What's needed is a crack team of scientists, minaturized in a vessel to take out the virus. I'm sure I saw this in a documentary.
Fantastic Voyage too (though that's possibly 70s)Ooh, I'm going to add Innerspace to my 80s movie watchlist.
From the 60s and its the right movie because Fantastic Voyage is about a team of doctors and scientist who get miniaturised and injected into a human body to perform a medical procedure. In Innerspace it's just an experiment gone wrong.Fantastic Voyage too (though that's possibly 70s)
aye, think krtek a houby was referring to FV not ISFrom the 60s and its the right movie because Fantastic Voyage its about a team of doctors and scientist who get miniaturised and injected into a body for a medical procedure. In Innerspace it's just an experiment gone wrong.
I'm all for the hardcore Trump fans stupid enough to follow his medical advice, injecting themselves with bleach. The fewer of them, the better. They actually have to tell people this

I think we just saw the Trump decision-making process in action a little more closely than usual - advisers who have some idea what they're talking about will explain something, Trump will come out with stupid/insane/unrealistic suggestions, questions, whatever, and people who manage to flatter him while very gently nudging him away from the idea are the ones that get to keep their jobs, it's a shame nobody at the briefing decided to just grab him by the jowls and shout "THAT'S NOT HOW DISINFECTANTS WORK."
One good thing that could happen would be for states like California to break away and become nations. I'm sure it can't happen but an attractive thought.
do you need to disinfect a needle if it's already filled with disinfectant?
A Tangerine said:So supposing we hit the body with a tremendous, er, whether it's ultraviolet or just very powerful light. And I think you said that hasn't been checked but you're going to test it. And then I said supposing you brought the light inside the body which you can do either through the skin or in some other way.
I'm saying that the belowI'm sorry. I am tired as always and I really can't work out what you're saying. Are you saying that he was talking about injecting something else other than disinfectant? IOW, he was saying that maybe injections are a good idea, rather than saying that injecting disinfectant is a good idea?
Nah, that's not correct paraphrasing. He doesn't say anything equivalent to 'It would be great if...'. What he says is 'It'd be interesting to check that.' He's advancing a medical hypthothesis, rather than fantasising out loud.I'm saying that the below
"And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside or almost a cleaning because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it’d be interesting to check that"
is more correctly read, paraphrasing it into non-Trump speak, as
"Disinfectant kills COVID-19 rapidly. It would be great if there was something you could injection that killed COVID-19 in the human body in a similar manner"
rather than
"People should inject disinfectant into their bodies because it will kill COVID-19"
