What stupid shit has Trump done today?

Don't forget that Cohen was also the GOP's deputy finance chairman. Which could make his plea deal interesting.

*jinx to the post above.

Meanwhile, Manafort has been found guilty of 8 of 18 counts in his trial. The remaining 10 the jury were deadlocked on and a mistrial has been declared.

Also Omorosa will be showing a video of hers at 7pm Eastern time.

I've just read that too. I'm not sure how he can survive this. But I'm not sure how it's being spun on places like Free Repub lic and R edstate though. I'm also not sure how effective the spin is going to be.

The only way this can end is if the House votes by a simple majority to impeach, and then a two-thirds majority of the Senate convicts. Trump has executive privilege, effectively.

Assuming he can't be persuaded to stand down, of course.

Michael Cohen Says He Paid Off Woman Who Claimed Affair at Trump’s Direction

The guilty plea could represent a pivotal moment in the investigation into the president: a once-loyal aide acknowledging that he made payments to at least one woman who said she had an affair with Mr. Trump, in violation of federal campaign finance law.

Cohen hasn't flipped - he's done a fucking somersault :D
All the porn star payments lies are exposed, and Russia meeting details will be on the FBI's tables being closely examined by Mr. M and friends.
I'll bet Trump isn't enjoying his burger and coke today.

Mid terms are coming up soon, something that's very likely to alter the colour scheme of the house and senate. That can't hurt but evidence is mounting to the point even the most bent of Trump supporters will be forced to ditch him or risk loosing their seat on the gravy train.

Don't bet on it. There are still people of my parents generation who believe that Nixon got a bad deal. With the cult-like status of Trump among some of the electorate, I don't think a lot of his supporters are going to turn away. They will double-down instead.

It is hard to see how they won't do that now, this is the exact reason why Pence was put on the ticket. This is much more blatant than Clinton's fibs over Lewinsky were - its obvious what he did and why he did it (indeed he has admitted most of it already).

It isn't my birthday and there are no church bells so it can't be Christmas.
Any other religious biggies on today because it's a day full of gifts.
Manafort has been found guilty (no shock there) and we have proof Trump is a bent fucker (no shock there but it's in court this time).

I know we've all read it by now but it's delicious so I'll quote it again

Ex-Trump lawyer admits campaign violation

US President Donald Trump's former lawyer Michael Cohen has pleaded guilty in a Manhattan court to violating campaign finance laws.

He said he did so at the direction of "the candidate" and that he acted for the "purpose of influencing election".

Fuck you, Trump!

Some of them will, certainly. I'd be amazed if the Congressional GOP does nothing about it though - this is unprecedented already and we are not anywhere near the end of it yet.

It's way beyond Watergate, never mind Clinton!

I suspect that once another very conservative, youngish Supreme Court judge or two is confirmed, on top of all the judicial appointments in the lower circuits, then the GOP will cast Trump aside. They'll have a hold on that branch of government for a new generation.

You're forgetting his elected supporters, the ones that actually matter, are a bunch of greedy cunts that have far more interest in their own skins and pockets than anything else.
If their little empires are under threat, they'll throw Trump to the FBI and claim they were misled by whichever fall guy these twats decide is best to take a tumble.
There will be a queue of the bastards lining up to get into TV, all explaining how Mister Fallguy lied to them and how sorry they are they didn't realise the truth earlier.

Ecstatic, I'll wager.

He'll be greeted as a hero. The more the establishment push against him, the stronger he becomes.

Only amongst idiots.
The warehouse full of evidence is getting fuller by the day and will eventually get to the point the elected souls that will finally decide his future will run out of choices and be forced to ditch him.
Pound to a pinch of shit the fuckers are having huddles in dark corners at the moment, all trying to work out how to get rid without hurting themselves.
He's gone, just he doesn't know it yet and he's too arrogant and stupid to realise the people protecting him with their votes will fuck him off the moment it becomes advantages for them.

I admire your optimism and I hope I'm wrong.

The Cohen-Manafort stuff is obviously great news for anybody hoping to see Trump driven from office in disgrace and his agenda reversed - we won't see any change straight away, but it's certainly a boost for the Democrats going into the midterms, we'll have to wait and see whether they fuck it up or not. With their track record, they'll probably argue amongst themselves about calling for impeachment until everybody's sick of listening to them.

We now know Trump directed illegal campaign contributions and instructed his legal representative to commit acts both knew were illegal, then both tried to cover up those acts.
The politicians will continue to vote on party lines but cracks are starting to show and that's what Trump is scared of.
There is now little choice for the Republicans but to plan their escape, and that means ditching Trump.
There's no "if" any more, only "when".
