Listening to More Blood, More Tracks last night... The stripped down version of Idiot Wind is superb...

My Dad was a huge Dylan fan much, I think, to my mum's chagrin who maintains that he cannot sing (I agree). However my mum, who should know better likes both Katie Melula and Bobby Vee. I like early Dylan and he's a gateway drug to Woody Guthrie which can only be a good thing.

In my view, it's not whether he's even good in the rock or music sense. The man is one of humanities great masters, up there with Dickens, Van Gough, etc. The Nobel Prize for Literature was just one part of it. Alien level creativity.

been playing this a lot recently.

I think he's weird. I think he goes into different states. and the song then becomes a different state.

my kids are loving this one at the moment. It's not singing. "I am not there". i believe he kind of can slip into characters and it's spooky. He was a middle class kid, not hte drifter he is singing. But he can impersonate. I truly believe him when he's singing this - "he's not there"

i am not going to get all gushing. but i still remember it. I was uplate flicking through the channels. it was about midnight. And Dont Look Back came on. Nothing was the same again. Bought each album, pay day after pay day. barely listened to anything else for about 3 years. was consumed. I read all the writers he liked, all the poets.

anyway, the next morning after Dont Look Back went into my parents bedroom in the morning. "have you heard of Bob Dylan?????"

"yeah hte weasly looking bloke who can't sing."

speaking of van gogh this unreleased rarity is great. caught in the middle of writing it he seems, give it a while to get going

This might just be the best thing to ever happen at a Dylan gig.

We saw Andy Irvine last year, he's of the same vintage as Dylan and he was magnificent and still an activist.

Don't think it's fair to knock artists simply because of their age.

So much time for his fans

I am too young to have a developed opinion on Bob Dylan.

He was at his peak when I was a baby.

I think I know that there was scandal amongst his followers when he began playing an electric guitar!

Now .. well he is :

I became vaguely aware of him in the 70s, when I was young. But didn't get into him until the late 80s. How do you feel about Mozart?
