What are you playing at the moment?

What are the system requirements like?
CPU wise, anything from the past 12 years is probably fine. It does chug a bit on integrated graphics, but it does run. It certainly prefers a discrete graphics card, and again anything from the past 12 years would do it.

You should check out 'Black Mesa' a remake of half life and its only £3.35 at the moment on steam.

I bought it and all HL games/DLC in recent sales. I’ll work my way through them then go back to the beginning (again) and play Black Mesa.

Cool, sounds like my cheap laptop should manage it.

Bought and downloading…

There were time while playing it I thought "Why isn't this the official game of U75"? Investigate a murder through the haze of your epic hangover whilst ruminating on the fundamentals of communism.
I bought this for my thirteen year old as sounded great. He stormed into m y room to shout at me about how 'innapropiate' it was and is still annoyed with me.

Just trying to get some fags after a massive bender is a total nightmare. I don't even know if you can ever manage to but every time I play I feel the pain.

I've been playing more 40K: Boltgun recently. They recently added a feature which actually shows the path to the next mission objective point, which is actually really useful because a major issue I found when playing it was "ok so I've murdered everyone on this level in the name of the emperor WHAT DO I DO NOW oh I have to interact with this random piece of scenery to move to the next level do I"

However I'd advise turning it off until the point when you're fairly sure you've cleansed the level because otherwise it encourages you to just go straight to the end and ignore all the powerups and ammo you will need to deal with the next bit.
Started back on that over the weekend, so much bloody fun! Wish there was a coop dlc

I got game ended cos the (correctly) contemptuous kid hanging around the body throwing stones at it mocked me so hard my game ended. I'm starting another go.

I have died from a heart attack caused by sitting in an uncomfortable chair for too long. Which given the state you start in sounds reasonable.

Cujo is a little shit.

I'm going to play that new Capcom game, Kumitsu something. Supposed to be good.

My favorite death was giving a big speech to the hotel owner, running away and not paying for the room, and falling over someone in a wheelchair to my gloomy death.

Kunitsu Gami is good. Tower defence with you also controlling a character (so a bit like Orcs Must Die I guess but I haven't really played that). You have some time to go round the village and remove "defilement" and free villagers. You can then make those villagers into archers or axemen or whatever. Meanwhile you clear a path for your priestess to walk along towards the end of the stage.

Once night falls you have to protect her from a load of demons, so you can position your soldiers around her or at chokepoints in the map and then hold out until sunrise, when you move her further along the path, free more villagers etc.

Oh and everybody is dancing and every other stage is a boss.

It's on game pass.

Third quest into Gloomhaven (gold edition, PS5) it’s a slow burn dungeon crawler but deliciously tactical and engaging!

Well worth it if you’ve always wanted to play the board game but could never purchase due to the logistics of getting it to the table.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree (PS5) - I’ve been dipping in and out of this. Just when you thought the base game couldn’t be bettered…loving it, but oh boy, this huge Soulsborne fan is finding it bloody tough. 😑

I’m an old geek who landed here just a couple of weeks ago. You all seem like a decent bunch. Feel free to add me:

PlayStation: CALJO
Steam, Nintendo & Quest: CALJO70
XBox: C4LJO

Playing Cities Skyline 2 on PC as I treated myself to a top of the range gaming laptop recently.
It's so addictive I'm about to get CS1 with loads of DLCs and mods to really get into the experience. I was off work sick recently and notched up 20 hours on it over three days.

Added you on PS.👍🏽

Steamworld Heist 2. I love Steamworld games, but the city building one was a bit of a misstep. This is back to what they do best. Great little tactics game, improvement in every way on the original, which was already great. The main difference is that you can mix and match jobs now, so you can get some nice combos going. And it's really pretty, which always helps.
