Network Close To NATO Military Leader Fueled Ukraine Conflict
July 28, 2016
Working with dubious sourcing, a group close to NATO's chief military commander Philip Breedlove sought to secure weapons deliveries for Ukraine, a trove of newly released emails revealed. The efforts served to intensify the conflict between the West and Russia.
Breedlove's leaked email correspondences were read in Berlin with great interest. A year ago, word of the NATO commander's "dangerous propaganda" was circulating around Merkel's Chancellery. In light of the new information, officials felt vindicated in their assessment. Germany's Federal Foreign Office has expressed similar sentiment, saying that fortunately "influential voices had continuously advocated against the delivery of 'lethal weapons.'"

Karber says he finds it "obscene that the most effective sanction of this war is not the economic limits placed on Russia, but the virtual complete embargo of all lethal aid to the victim. I find this to be the height of sophistry -- if a woman is being attacked by a group of hooligans and yells out to the crowd or passersby, 'Give me a can of mace,' is it better to not supply it because the attackers could have a knife and passively watch her get raped?"

General Breedlove's departure from his NATO post in May has done little to placate anyone in the German government. After all, the man Breedlove regarded as an obstacle, President Obama, is nearing the end of his second term. His possible successor, the Democrat Hillary Clinton, is considered a hardliner vis-a-vis Russia.

What's more: Nuland, a diplomat who shares many of the same views as Breedlove, could move into an even more important role after the November election -- she's considered a potential candidate for secretary of state.

The recent events involving an alleged plot by Ukraine to vomit terrorist acts in Crimea are interesting.

We know that Poroshenko is desperately unpopular domestically, that Ukraine's economy has been severely weakened by its loss of Russian loans and ongoing trade, and that Poro has humiliatingly failed in his promises to 'liberate' Crimea and Donbas.

In that context, we can assume that there may well be some truth in this alleged plot.

Moscow's response has been predictably and lamentably tame compared to what might normally be regarded as an act of war by Ukraine against Russia.

Putin's moderation is notable despite his mis-representation in the West as some sort of war-mongering mad dictator.

Ukraine has publicly spoken of its intent to return Crimea and Donbas to its control by force if necessary.

But yet seemingly people balk at the idea that Kiev could possibly be behind acts of de-stabilisation or terror.

It's almost as though some people simply cease thinking whenever Russia is involved. The mantra kicks in:

West good, Russia bad.

It's terrifying isn't it, the arrogant tunnel-vision at play here will end us all. If the United States were to launch a nuclear attack against Russia today, they probably feel it could be justified on the basis of what a lot of people in the West have already been led to believe, that is to say that nuking Moscow tomorrow would lead participants of this forum and the West in general to say "well... Ukraine and Crimea, their imperialism in Syria, the killing of Litvenenko, their doping for the Olympics etc... it had to be done I guess, harsh but fair, Putin had to be stopped". In a similar way to how the nuking of Hiroshima and Nagasaki is today justified as the least bad outcome of the time.

One would like to think that of course the US wouldn't launch any sort of preemptive strike on Russia (or intend to back the Russians into such a corner by surrounding them with bases and have German troops an artillery throw away from St Petersberg or something so they can be said to have 'started it') but I'm not even sure of that anymore, the disconnect is so total one can only hope it's because the US thinks they have weapons so powerful that a Russian strike can be stopped 100% completely and all the fallout in the atmosphere from a nuked Russia somehow vacuumed up by a magical device built by Halliburton.

Try not to think about it, President Hillary "Skynet" Clinton doesn't come online til November isn't it? Try an live your life as well as possible til then.

It's like Idealists have taken over the asylum and Realists are all just Putin-bots now, except on closer inspection the Idealists aren't really idealist at all, as things like democracy and human rights are found to be merely useful tools for whatever mad Strangelovian vision burns behind their eyes this time. Production-destruction by war-industry to keep capitalism falling forward is one thing, but the likes of LH Martin's share price isn't going to be improved by three billion dead by hour 2 of the conflict... so who knows. Maybe it's all just plain banal peer-pressurized stupidity.

Donbass rebel leader , the indefatigable , redoubtable Motorola , has been assassinated outside his apartment in Donetsk . Remote control bomb in a lift shaft . CIA backed Kiev regime widely believed responsible for the killing, they'd tried to assassinate him previously on a number of occasions . DPR rebels absolutely furious .
Very real possibility this assassination could lead to reprisals and escalation .

BREAKING: DPR commander Motorola assassinated - Fort Russ

Ceasefire would appear to be in real jeopardy as a result of this .

Situation so serious verbs and definite articles being rationed.

"The commander of the Sparta battalion of the Donetsk People’s Republic and famous defender of Donbass known by his callsign “Motorola,” Arsen Pavlov, was killed today, October 16th, by a bomb in his apartment building’s elevator. The incident has been officially confirmed as an assassination carried out by Ukrainian special forces"

From FR site- has this been officially confirmed - and by whom ?

It's being reported by the mainstream now.

The better clarse of fascists over at scumfront used to say how embarrassing it was having the Russian equivalent of a redneck being so prominent.

I bet it was squabbling gangster mates. His let's play up for the camera bully-in-arms 'Givi' might end up the same or in a ditch. It's nearly happened before.

Anyone got detailed info on Rafael Marques Lusvarghi?
He got nicked last month. He was on a plane to Moscow and it got diverted to Kiev. Ukraine chokey not quite the valhalla he was wishing for.

A French mag called Streetpress published a story about the French loons after a hack. It looks like they were kicked out last year. Victor-Alfonso Lenta, the tiny guy with the tash, is back in France.

Originally, Unite Continentale was created by two former soldiers: the Serbian Frenchman Nicolas Perovic and Victor Alfonso Lenta, who were previously involved in two far-right associations, Bloc identitaire and Jeunesses nationalistes (a neo-fascist group, also banned in 2013). Lenta was dismissed from the army after taking part in an evening in honor for Hitler. On 19 April 2008, Lenta and his mates built wooden swastikas that they ignited before ransacking a mosque in Colomiers, newspaper Depeche du Midi reports.

Guillaume Cuvelier was mentioned earlier as well.
Others seem to not want to return to France. This is the case of Guillaume Cuvelier that after falling in love with an American journalist in the Donbas, decided to go to fight in Iraq with his girlfriend, accompanied by Mickael Takahashi. The trio took up arms against the Islamic State with the Peshmerga for a few months until March 2016, before disappearing. The French-American couple has now moved to the United States. Now Cuvelier is actively trying to eliminate any traces of being in the various conflict zones.

One of the journos who wrote this piece has a book out about Alain Soral - "The Soral System - Investigation Into A Fascist Business". The mag's editor was attacked last year by a gentleman shouting "dirty jew".

Heroes of the fascist anti-fascist struggle against fascism.

I think the partner of the French Neo-Euraisianist who went to 'fight' IS with the Peshmerga is 'Kat Argo.' She was a National Guard officer in the US army, serving in Afghanistan before becoming a contractor there. She then went to the Donbas as a freelance journalist on the separatist side, then afterwards led a team of foreign volunteers in Iraq, but apparently her group wasn't anywhere near recent fighting in an area where hardcore IS fighters aren't to be seen.

Both of them are here, her in the middle, the fascist on the right.

Just noticed her doc is included with Amazon instant video membership, lol.

He's probably spent the last month being tortured by the SBU, which isn't funny. Maybe he'll be used for an exchange?

I wouldn't be surprised if he sells out his mates and switches sides. HRW report on torture is pretty grim.

In one case, “Vadim,” 39, was detained and tortured first by one side, then the other. In April 2015, armed men seized him at a checkpoint manned by Ukrainian forces, pulled a bag over his head, and questioned him about his alleged connections with Russia-backed separatists. Vadim spent more than six weeks in captivity, most of the time in a facility apparently run by Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) personnel. His interrogators tortured him with electric shocks, burned him with cigarettes, and beat him, demanding that he confess to working for Russia-backed separatists.

After they finally released him, Vadim returned to Donetsk and was immediately detained by the local de facto authorities, who suspected him of having been recruited by Ukraine’s Security Service during his time in captivity. He spent more than two months in incommunicado detention in an unofficial prison in central Donetsk, where his captors also beat and ill-treated him.

There hasn't been much chatter about this story has there?
Serbia has deported a group of Russians suspected of involvement in a coup plot in neighbouring Montenegro, the Guardian has learned, in the latest twist in a murky sequence of events that apparently threatened the lives of two European prime ministers.

The plotters were allegedly going to dress in police uniforms to storm the Montenegrin parliament in Podgorica, shoot the prime minister, Milo Ðjukanović, and install a pro-Moscow party.

The Russian fingerprints on the October plot have heightened intrigue about Moscow’s ambitions in a part of Europe hitherto thought to be gravitating towards the EU’s orbit.

A group of 20 Serbians and Montenegrins, some of whom had fought with Moscow-backed separatists in eastern Ukraine, were arrested in Podgorica, the Montenegrin capital. In Serbia, meanwhile, several Russian nationals suspected of coordinating the plot were caught with €120,000 and special forces uniforms.

I wonder if Nicolas Perovic, mentioned in the French report above and maybe earlier in the thread, is among these lads. I also wonder how Cuvelier was able to get into the US and avoid being banged up. Is the USA a safe haven for militant anti-imperialists?

According to the article you posted he is trying to clear traces of his recent jaunts. His holiday in the DNR will be the past he wants to erase the most I bet, since he's fallen in love with a fellow conflict tourist and likely wants to stay in the USA. Given what happened to pretty boy having his plane diverted to Kiev, do you reckon he could be extradited to a torture chamber in Ukraine if the authorities catch on what he was doing over there? He's a no mark really, but so was the other guy. The SBU might have a few lists and his Brazilian mate will be talking a lot after several late night beatings. I'd be shitting my pants.

I just checked and apparently the US has no extradition treaty with Ukraine. I dunno if the French care about him or the likes of the tash guy. They may be no marks but they're still dangerous loons. I find it all a bit too bizarre tbh.

I wonder how many freaks would turn up if someone was to call a demo and ask Amnesty to get on the case.

A while ago, Sputnik did a piece on an Italian called Andrea Palmeri who turned up on the Russian side. They neglected to mention that he's a notorious fascist (Vice piece) who is on the run from an assault conviction. His facebook is here - (you need to be on fb). I didn't know that Fiore was on the Ukrainian side for a bit.

Wot no mention that anarchist MMA fighter Jeff Monson has been given Luhansk citizenship (and is also pursuing a Russian passport)?!

This ex-UFC fighter is first U.S. 'citizen' of rebel state

..."It's a government, and that's why I'm a libertarian communist," he said. "Because I believe you can't be in government, or be part of government or a support government without having some corruption, without doing some things that are in your best interests but not in the best interests of the people at large."

That aside, he said he thinks Putin "has the welfare of Russia as his number-one concern."

After Monson's first conversation with the Russian leader, his ties to Moscow quickly deepened. Putin was watching again in November 2012 when the American entered the ring accompanied by the Soviet anthem.

Following an appearance on the country's version of "Dancing With the Stars" in March this year, Monson is now waiting to finalize his application for Russian citizenship.

Oh, and:

...When that goes through he will become a member of the opposition Communist Party, which has in turn used his appeal to try to lure younger people to bolster its increasingly aged membership. That rebranding effort also has seen the party produce posters of Vladimir Lenin re-imagined as a hipster with a leather jacket...
