tying your shoelaces

killer b

That vase.
i discovered the other day that there is more than one way to tie your shoelaces, and that some don't come undone!

my shoes are now securely attached to my feet with a surgeon's shoelace knot.

has anyone else discovered the fascinating world of non-standard shoelace knotting? :)

the one i'm using isn't complicated at all - it's just one extra loop. simpler than a double knot, and more secure.

Problem solved...

As a keen wearer of 10+ hole docs, I've been a big fan of that site for years. I favour a hidden knot, meself.

No, that is quite cool, but why does it matter?

"Where we're going there are no laces!"

i tie everything with laces a bit loose in a double bow and them slip them on and off. i imagine i shall be driven from the threads forum at pitchfork point for admitting such a sin.

No need for a pitchfork, you must already be in pain from the blisters on your feet.

I poke the laces from outside in, tie a stopper knot at an appropriate point and lo! no trailing laces, no knot issues. Usually.

It was about nine or ten before I could tie my own laces properly. Don't confuse me with alternative methods
