Toshack quits Wales job

"Toshack is ready to recommend Wales and Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs as his successor."

Interesting.

Honestly, why Giggs? He is famous, granted.

He rarely seemed ever to be bothered about us when he sometimes deigned to turn up to play for us. And given that he seemed to get monumentally frustrated at being surrounded by oplayers less able than himself, wouldn't he be similarly frustrated at trying to coach the buggers?

Not sure who else I would suggest though. Cookie is a nice bloke but a crap manager so far and about as inspiring as a bucket of wallpaper paste, Sav is a joke (funny on the radio mind) which leaves Flynn, Speedy if he would fuck the Blades over (which I don't think he would), O'Neill (no chance) or Svennis (ditto)

Flynn, for real?

It's probably right for him to go, sadly. My patience ran out after yet another poor start.

Flynn should definitely get a crack at it.

ETA: It would be good if Flynn could still have involvement with the U21s, it'd be such a shame for someone to take that position over and fuck it up.

Flynn, for real?

Because he has massively improved the u21s, and if they gave it to him Toshack would leave at once, and most importantly because there really isnt anyone else Welsh with any experience or decent track record (and if there was they would probably fuck off the moment some lower-table Premiership side came calling).

Flynn is a quality coach, we didn't respect how good he was for us until he left and we went shit. His u21 record is superb and his teams play lovely looking football. Always develops good players, Flynnie.

how the fucks giggs going to do the job while he is still playing for man united?

dave

He'll come to Cardiff on loan and join the revolution.

If Giggs is manager tho who is going to be in charge for the friendlies?

He has only managed U21's and Div 3 football tho, granted many of his U21's are now in the senior squad, but it will be a hell of step up for him.
