The Slow Fix - IWCA on the rise of UKIP and decline of the left...

Dennis Skinner, the old rogue, raised the issue recently in parliament. He started off by saying 'it's about class really isn't it?' He then continued to state 'he was proud to work alongside Poles on building sites just after the war'. He then hit the nail on the head when he slammed into 'all these agency's who exploit workers where they are recruited from and in the process set worker against worker'. He concluded by saying 'let's get rid of these agency's, we don't need them and we don't want them'.

Edit: This is clearly more progressive than saying we don't need immigrants and we don't want them.

And Joe your use of the word narcissist/narcissism is becoming somewhat overused in your criticism of posters I've noticed. Does that make me a narcissist, or you for that matter? :hmm:

Dunno how you managed to survive your militant antifascist career bignose, you come across as a punny fucker.

I'll get me coat.

Norm...I always did my anti fascism with a laugh...a bit like when you were dreaming about being chased by a dinosaur and you were laughing..gallows humour whatever. Many a time we had some giggles usually because you knew it was such a cunning plan( hurrah baldrick). I remember being in Exmouth in a caravan park with RA early 80's and in the morning were surrounded by Marines from a previous nights altercation at the talent contest at the site night club who turned up like spoilt twats for revenge...I was quite scared but went into this fit of laughter...anyway they disappeared..not quite sure the whole circumstances but I think they thought we were a bit mental and possibly quite evil. With JW's laugh that was quite a possibility.

I also remember telling jokes the night before for about 5 hours non stop...I swear it just came on...this was in my non drinking days..( I only started drinking at 40)...but Im sure people thought I was on summat. Had some fun...pity it got shitty later with my old comrades but I hope that can be put aside when talking about the good times gone.

Did you used to smoke weed or do charlie b4 that?

Nope....never touched anything like that..skinny as a whippet..footy and ju-jitsu...now look at me. Even in decline I have managed to steer clear of all that honest;) and as I enter my 5th week of dieting Im beginning to get a lot fitter. My weight piled on my kipper and you can now begin to see the once chiselled looks returning.

I do.....like a silly twat have an odd fag...

I'm intrigued at this:

Was it the usual being pissed arseholes (the Marines that is) and you told 'em to shut it. or something to that affect?

Interesting article that confirms that UKIP sees potential Labour territory as well as Tory shires

http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2013/may/30/ukip-gunning-labour-ed-miliband?CMP=twt_gu

Probably key para:

"The resentments fuelling Ukip run deep, and have built up over two decades of marginalisation and neglect. Apologies are a start. But there will be no quick fix.
How bad could this get? Labour should look to Europe, where for 20 years social democrats have struggled with the fact that their base is highly vulnerable to radical right invaders. Consider this: during its initial breakthrough period in 1984, the French Front National drew just 8% of its support from manual workers. By 1995, this had rocketed to almost 30%, leaving Le Pen's as the most popular political party among workers. It was the same story in Austria, where between 1979 and 1999 the Freedom party saw its share of the blue-collar vote surge from 4 to 47%, making it the No 1 vehicle for working-class protest. The mechanics of the British system mean that Labour has never been confronted with this challenge. The BNP might have knocked at the door, but when Labour finally kicked into gear it ensured that only few voters let the extremists in. But it is clear to us that Ukip has the potential to come crashing through the house."

No it was cos Mickey O'Farrell singing somewhat 'alternatively' with his guitar and united scarf coupled with the booing and cries of 'fix' as the tubby tap dancing 9 year old with wringlets gets first prize..or summat similar.

that's an incredible number, how could left parties there still say they were the parties of the working class, I think it has gone down now though

Yes indeed, these are indeed jaw-dropping, nowhere left to hide stats. They show that European wide, the orthodox Left is nothing more than a politically deviant anti-working class anti-communist (very small c) sham, with the rot visibly setting in well more than 30 years ago.

And when you strip away the tissue shedding liberal veneer of those who scorn the IWCA remedy, while accusing it's supporters of being Strasserite (on this and other forums) - where are they now?

The very best you can say about them they are criminally deluded ivory tower elitists.

How do they come to be that way? Well, you can all make up your own minds on that one.

Woolston, Southamption. Lab 864 (-23%) UKIP 731 (+27%) CON 704 (-6%) TUSC 136 (nc) LD 120 (-3%) GRN 107 (+4%) %age change on 2012

Some evidence of UKIP taking labour votes in that result?
