The Reform UK Party (latest nigel farage vehicle) is it to be laughed at or not

Not sure where that story's from, but if true is the possibility of a recall petition? Between them the Tories and Labour got well over 50% of the vote there last year, although admittedly I suspect only the Tories have a chance of taking the seat.

an MP has to do something that's within specific categories of 'wrong' before a recall petition can even be started, not just because (some) voters are pissed off with / don't like an MP (otherwise you'd get endless recall petitions in marginal seats until one party got bored or ran out of money, or the far right pushing recall petitions against MPs who are LGBT+ / black etc.)

unlike local councillors, who can be disqualified if they don't attend any council meetings for more than x amount of time, don't think there's any actual requirement for an MP to do anything specific at all once they have been elected.

A recall petition will take place if an MP is:

  • convicted of an offence in the UK and receives a custodial sentence (including a suspended sentence) or is ordered to be detained, other than solely under mental health legislation
  • suspended from the House of Commons for 10 sitting days or 14 calendar days
  • convicted of providing false or misleading information for allowance claims under the Parliamentary Standards Act 2009.

source - electoral commission.

Not satisfied with rubbing shoulders with Trump the rapist, he's rubbing shoulders with McGregor the rapist too.

Nigel Farage is facing cross-party condemnation for posting a photo to social media smiling alongside MMA fighter Conor McGregor, who last year was ordered to pay damages to a woman who accused him of raping her.

The woman, who accused McGregor of raping her in a Dublin hotel in 2018, won her claim against him for damages in an Irish civil case in November.

The Reform UK leader, who captioned the photo, “We are so back”, can be seen shaking McGregor’s hand in the photo, taken at a victory rally for Donald Trump in Washington on Sunday.

'Labour refuse to open enquiry into grooming gangs' is all over the press now. All according to keikaku.
This issue is not going away and will be used to destroy the labour party not that Keir Starmer is dragging the labour party into the gutter himself.
The amount of labour members who have ripped up their membership cards since keir took control is unbelievable.

Got any evidence to back that up? I'm not disagreeing with you, you'd need your head examined to be a member of the Labour Party under Starmer, but I'd like to see it.

Evidence of LP membership decline?
well this article is from summer 2023
must be even worse now

This is amusing.

Turns out he didn't even get an invite to the Capital's rotunda for the inauguration, best tweet on there - @Nigel_Farage You might as well have watched it in Clacton. :D

Right, but what’s that got to do with my question? Which, to remind you, was about Labour Party membership levels!
To honest I've got no hard evidence that the labour number's are declining all over the UK but in my area I've now left the labour party and over the last 18 months I've known plenty that have left.
I just imagine if what Raga Miah mentions about grooming gangs certain gang members having connections to the labour party then its going to be embarrassing and another of the reasons people leave the labour party.
The winter fuel allowance another factor that has destroyed much credibility to the labour party.
