Williams was 5-1 down & championship point against her & has got it back to 5-5 so it is exciting!

No arguing with that.

Amazon prime is a good few seconds behind the radio, ‘‘tis annoying

I thought Andreescu had it in the bag but now plausible for Williams to turn it around.

Not that I particularly want her to, after last year's debacle!

And she said as much afterwards. I hope she spits in Markle's face at Wimbledon next year.
You must expect the septics to cheer on the greatest Woman tennis player as she is from the USA. I doubt Andy Murray's opponents suffered any differently at wimbledon. Markle is one of Williams mates & a yank so you would expect her to be on her side.
Andreescu took a cheque home for over £3 million so I doubt she gives that much of a shit. A good learning curve too. having to play in that hostile environment will probably be the worst she has to face in her whole career.

Ump needs to clamp down on Rafa holding up play when Med is serving. The crowd was near silent when he last did it so it's nothing to do with crowd noise.

Well he has done now! A bit harsh considering the noise
Ump docked Rafa a couple of first serves in the match when there was a bit of noise, that was indeed harsh. Rafa, however, held up his racket to say 'hold on' when it was near silent when Med was about to serve. On one occasion, Med took no notice and served anyway and served out but the ump gave him another go.

The stop clock only tackles the problem of slow serving. This was more a problem of the returner holding up play.

Anyway, that was a right humdinger of a match. Glad I stayed up for it.

Looks like the Great Roger Federer's record majors tally will be broken in the next 12-24 months. May have been longer if he didn't bottle the several championship points in Wimbledon

Should have added well played to Rafa last night (and this morning). 19 slams and counting is some going. As the commentators said, you'd have thought his all action style of play and the resulting wear and tear on his body would have him retired by now. Instead, he's won more slams in his 30s (5) than either Fed or Novak (both 4).

Yeah, pleased for him. I couldn't get it on TV but was watching the score until two sets all then just HAD to turn in due to need to catch a plane later today! Sounds like it was exciting stuff.

I was going to say that coin-thrower Medvedev is one to watch but he's already a big contender.

So it will now be the case that there is no man under the age of 31 with a grand slam title. Three full years of just F, N or D winning them. As they get older they become more dominant, which is a damning indictment of the next generation. Medvedev looks to have star potential, but that's all it remains for the likes of him or Dimitrov until they actually win one.
