The dog thread is better than the cat thread, because it features dogs.

Was in town today and got chatting to a woman who had a Jack Russell. 14 years old he was, and usually quite ambivalent about people. But he was very happy to wander over towards me and let me stroke him for a few moments. Made my day

Hadn’t realised how wiry and bristly their hair can be, the woman said it was only some types though

Sunny's coat is quite rough and wiry in places, but she has the softest little ears.

Is Badger a flat-coated retriever? One of the coolest dogs I ever knew was a flatty. Really clever girl she was too.

And that's a magnificent greyhound upthread. I was visiting my auntie in St Annes recently and she's not big on dogs, but loves greys, and there was a beautiful one sat outside the pub near us. I met a very sweet Iggy recently as well, he was an emotional support dog and really well-behaved. He enjoyed the fuss being made over him.

(I am a cat person and take issue with this thread title, but I don't mind dogs either)

spamming the thread a bit...what can I say...new phone camera after 2 years of a shit one...:D

maybe should have worked out the focus beforehand but he's moving fast in a 4m circle. the clanking in the background is the washing line he keeps brushing past/colliding with

He looks a bit scatty bless him, my cat's like that, nothing but fluff between his ears and daft as a brush :D

SpookyFrank how long do they have to have the lampshade on? And does it bother them?

Dunno but we tried taking it off and he instantly started worrying at his wound. he managed to start it bleeding again while he was still at the vets so it's cone of shame until further notice.

He's just about figured out how to eat and drink with it on but he's struggling to navigate the house. Also he keeps refusing to go for a piss because he's unable to sniff out a suitable spot in the back yard. Pissing without sniffing first is apparently not an option.

In case you don't know, you can get inflatable donut type collars or fabric lampshades that are floppier but still hold their shape enough to work, if the standard vet lampshade is causing issues.

We've got an inflatable doughnut thing already. Doesn't stop him getting at his face sadly. He's pretty calm in his cone, seems resigned to it.
