The Championship 2019-20

The final is a one off game, in a strange ground, strangely empty and anything could happen regardless of opponent. Form goes out the window, it's just who rises to the challenge the best in the day.

I failed to catch up with this , but here's a good/interesting report

Conclusion said:
Fulham might find more enjoyment in Brentford’s artistry than in the buffeting they received against Cardiff. Either way, it will be a tussle between the best of London’s west and Parker, who hopes Aleksandar Mitrovic will be fit, could simply thank his lucky stars he will be there at all.

ETA : BBC report here also

Oh well. Good game though.

Were you pissed? That isn't football Cardiff play. Millwall under Harris were very difficult on the eye. Cardiff under him play the worst sort of anti-football i've seen i a long long time. Effective it might be but blimey....

Brentford will obviously be every neutral fan's preference to win the final. We've spent 15 of the last 20 years in the premiership so I get that. If we have Mitro and Kabano fit it'll be a close game. Without them I think Brentford will win quite easily. To be honest I think they deserve their chance in the big time. Its a very well run club who've done it the right way. I honestly don't mind staying down. Not a fan of the premiership at all. £55 for a ticket against one of the small teams. £65 again Chelsea etc? VAR? The cottage packed with tourists with very little atmosphere (yes yes I know but its really flat in the prem). Fuck that.

I am gutted no fans will be at Wembley though. that would have been a great day and a tad feisty too! Oh well.

may the best team on the day win. If thats Brentford....good luck to them.

No I wasn't even slightly pissed, but I enjoyed the match and it was certainly more open than many big games I've seen recently. And that Fulham free kick was a highlight on its own.

Yeah that was funny. Cairney not himself at the moment. At least he could have laugh about that freekick afterward in his interview. Would have been a different story had Kabano still been on the pitch.

fulham were dreadful last night. As bad as I've seen them this season in the 2nd half. We won that tie in Cardiff (where we played really well I thought).

the reaction of the fulham players' at the final whistle was very very muted and hard to explain. I know they've all been here before but come on lads........cheer up ffs.....you won!

I'd love the Bess to get a shot at the Prem, and it's the only way we're going to keep some of the boys.

Have you watched their recent performances? Harris has a squad built by Warnock, he's limited to what style of football he can play, but since return from lockdown the football has been miles away from Warnock, and the play-off games were both good games with a very different style.

Is that the free kick that should never have been given? that goal was ultimately the difference between the tow teams, you were very lucky over 2 legs.

what bollox. Completely outplayed them in the first game. Fulham were lucky? Blimey. Maybe look at the stats from teh first game...

...and remember we hit the inside of the post in the second half last night. Dreadful last night granted. Lucky to win the tie? Ludicrous.

if you want to question decisions, the Cardiff players foot was clearly over the line and on the pitch for the long throw that lead to the corner/goal.

ive watched Millwall ‘a lot’ of times under Harris and it was the same style. Fucking dreadful football. I feel sorry for people who have to watch that week in week out. It’s skillless, hoof (or launch throw ins) hopeful air ball.

I see you didnt out up the stats for the second leg. Whatever it is it was very near good enough to end your hopes of a return to the hell that is the EPL. The media love in with Fulham is bizarre, hope Brentford wipe that cheesy smile off Scotty's face.

nope but I did mention in a 2nd half in which we were dreadful we hit the inside of the post and almost scored on another occasion too. Hardly lucky. First half we were by far the better side. But if you really insist on being made to look a bit daft the stats from the 2nd game also suggest Fulham were not fortunate.

Cardiff deservedly won the 2nd leg. As their spirit was great and they really went for it. Fulham deserved to win the tie. I think you probably know that.

I’m hoping you are a Cardiff fan who’s blinded by disappointment and also (naturally) bias. If that’s not the case I’m a little worried about your mental health and/or eye sight.

and if Brentford do win.....I’ll be the first to congratulate them and hopefully Parker will be sacked. Fulham should have walked this division this season with the squad we have. They have under achieved.
