The Championship 2019-20

Good to see Bryan pop up with two. What's the feeling been there on him? He's a good lad off the pitch too.

he’s decent player but took a while to win people over as we’ve been blessed with very good players in that position in recent years so we looked weaker initially when he joined.

I like football. Not sure you do mate.
You hold Fulham up as being some sort of example of how to play beautiful football after last nights game that should have seen them down to 9 men! 🤔

Nope. I like our style of play but its far from perfect (or as entertaining as we were under Slavisa Jokonavic). We are too ponderous and slow. My point is Cardiff's style of football is dreadful and should have remained in the 1980s. Its anti-football.

So, Fulham were lucky again last night were we? OK mate.

See you in a season.

I hope you manage to keep your best players and win the championship next year. Brentford are a very decent side. All the best.
Thanks, we’ll lose a cpl/few for sure so just hope it doesn’t affect us too much.

Well done for last night.

Have to say tho’, Mitrovic is a cunt.

Congratulations to Fulham - sorry from a personal point of view as a visit to Craven Cottage is one of the best possible away days.

As a Wednesday fan, it may be some time till I get to repeat the experience .....

Thanks. I've not been following the situation but hear you've had a points deduction? What happened?

Chairman sold the ground to a company also controlled by his family, but then allocated the revenue to a year that meant we would avoid making a greater loss than allowed by current rules. He's adamant he had it signed off by the EFL who now of course say they didn't. All a bit murky, but if it stands we start next season on -12.

It's completely crap that it's taken from last November when the club was charged till last Friday for the process to play out - never mind if there's an appeal by SWFC which would prolong the whole thing.

Very happy with last night- didnt think we'd be going back up this year at any point to be honest!

Actually think ill miss the Championship though still. Brilliant league full of excitement and more games to follow.

Which of the three teams that have been promoted (if any) are going to be relegated next year from the Prem?

Its not always easy to tell. Im sure most people would find it funny if Leeds went back down after all the hoo-ha of them getting back to the premiership after so long. West Brom are the ultimate yo-yo club and we (Fulham) obviously had a shocker last time around. So fuck knows really, i guess decent investment might make a difference.

Id rather we didnt- we tried that last time and embarrassed ourselves. Years of building up a reputation of a club that everyone kinda of likes/doesnt mind, ruined in 1 big £100 million splurge.

sounds rubbish mate. How can this happen? And to Wigan too?

SWFC were bang to rights, and Wigan's deduction was automatic!

what I meant was clubs being taken over by very dodgey owners. Especially in Wigan’s case. Surely the lack of scrutiny is to blame too? From the League?

I wouldn't say our owner is dodgy - naive in the ways of modern football more like, and would appear he's been at the very least badly advised by a number of people. We have signed loads of ageing players on eye-watering contracts (eg Gary Hooper on £30k per week for three injury affected seasons) which is what has done for us. We've been trying to get rid of Jordan Rhodes for two years who is on a similar contract.

Given the rules on financial sustainability I wouldn't defend the club, but on the other hand both the club and the Chairman have been adamant that they kept the EFL informed of what they were doing and had it agreed by them. It was only several months later (not sure of exact timeframe) that the league then said SWFC had broken the rules.

Nah, Villa wont be that lucky again ( Sheff Utd goal). One of the three will survive.
I hate to say it but I think it will be Leeds.

He's talking about the 3 side that have recently been promote isn't he (or she)? The championship was very very weak this season. I think Leeds, West Brom and Fulham will struggle to stay up.

Villa are gonna be ok next year unfortunately, they are just about to sign Watkins and Benrhama from the Bees, can’t see Brentford being a force next year. I suspected as much so as much as I wanted Brentford promoted, the league will be easier without Fulham and their thuggery.
