The best burger in the world has been announced - and it's meat free

Earlier I mentioned that I'd stretch to any minced meat forming a burger.
Thats what I think a burger is. A patty of meat.

A chicken breast in a bap isn't a burger. Minced chicken could be.

When in a Stockholm restaurant, I order a burger. I got a braised slice of beef.
It was nice.
But it wasn't a burger.
That's a sandwich.

remember the good old days, when 'gay' meant 'happy'? :(
I do indeed see following vid of Opo the gay dolphin (they put notices up all over the place saying please don't shoot our gay golphin (I have no idea either but that's how they spelt it in spite of saying dolphin)skip the first two minutes as it's bollocks:

The word "gay" didn't mean homosexual in those days, it just meant lively happy joyful. The modern usage of that word began in the late 60s. I remember noticing its arrival.

KFC burgers aren't minced. They are nicer for this as well.

So why do supermarkets and the Linda McCartney empire insist on marketing "veggie burgers" and "veggie sausages" instead of speaking proudly about their "moulded fungus surprise"?

Why do supermarkets and the McDonalds empire insist on marketing "hamburgers" and "beef burgers" instead of speaking proudly about their "dead animal bits surprise"?

I still don't think they should make vegetarian options that aspire to appear/replace meat products I mean really veggie black pudding

you've made your choice.. live with it!!!

Most of those products are aimed at meat-eaters trying to be healthy. Ever seen Quorn being advertised as 'vegetarian' or even the word 'vegetarian' on the pack? :hmm: The closest you get is 'meat-free', but most likely it will be 'low fat' or 'high protien'

kfc sandwiches.

so what does 'burger' mean, over there?

It's all very confusing. McDonald's in The U.K. call their beef-in-a-bun products "burgers" and their chicken-in-a-bun fare "sandwiches". But KFC U.K. call those "burgers" but in the U.S. they call them "sandwiches" Then again, in America a "bum" is slang for a homeless person or vagrant, and a "fanny" is a bum.

So all hope is lost for any transatlantic standardisation on meat burgers, but I think we can all agree that the clearest way to refer to a veggie
burger, anywhere in the world, is "seasoned cardboard pattie".

Meat eaters trying to be healthy would be better off with grilled skinless chicken breast then, a bit less fat and a lot more protein than Quorn.

bacon, stake, and fallafel I like.

bean burgers not so much.

i kinda now really want a stake, bacon and fallafel.

put them all in some good pitta bread with some hummous.

You disgussed me. You don't have bacon and falafel and burger in the same bread enclosure. I am reporting you to the appropriate authorities. A K a the what are you having for tea thread.

Remember that poster Detroit city?

I also really like cauldron veggie linconshire sausages.

Linda mac shite, though? Enough to turn a person to bacon.
Yep. Or just have a decent vegetarian meal. There are plenty. McDonald's burgers do not equal burgers of course to. Get a kebab don't go to McDonald's.

No one on either side of the meat divide has a monopoly on shit food. I think we can all agree on that.

Even though I said meat divide. That's quite a disturbing image when I think about it.
