The 2023 Russian Coup.

There's not much you can do about that though is there. Insurrection, by it's nature, means that at least some of the rebels will have family at risk and trying to move them to safety prior to the coup would have triggered all kinds of red flags. If you're up against an opponent who'd use such tactics (and most would) the trick has got to be to strike so quickly that the government doesn't have a chance to make good on any such threats, and make sure you win. Unfortunately for Wagner, that doesn't seem to have been the case here and they've been left with their bollocks hanging out.

Yep. Saw this yesterday

If you were responsible for the bollock exposure of lots of men like these I don’t think you’d sleep well ever again.

Love the way in which the thread has moved from the way that Putin handled this not killing those who were on the road trip to Rotov shows how weak he is and that no one is scared of him to jesus what cunt he's now threatening the families of those who were on the road trip to Rostov.

I don't see any suggestion of that. I think he's a cunt, but not for threatening the rebel's families.

Whilst it's a pretty dark turn it's also wholly sensible.

His point of view is illustrated by the quote he chose. He thinks there’s an innate national character in Russians which suits despotism and continuity.
She couldn't have put it better himself, but that won't stop him from trying.

Lots of different analysis in the cool light of the day now. This one goes slightly against the grain.

Hmmm. Back when I was working for Old Man Soros, a Hungarian colleague asked me if I knew anything about Mexican politics. When I said "why do you ask", he said, "we are starting to think if the outcome of the Putin Era might be a system analogous to the Mexican PRI system, a one-party state with no hard ideology, just nationalism, populism and political pragmatism (and political repression"). I'm quoting from memory there, but I think that's the gist of what he said. I said a better analogy would be the patrimonial one-party presidential states of Africa, where the ultimate outcome has more than once been that the system doesn't survive the death of the patrimonial president that established it. In that picture, Putin would be the Felix Houphouet-Boigny of Russia, and Russia after P. would end up like Ivory Coast after FHB (spoiler - civil war between regionally-based factions).

Maybe Putins' system (which is barely semi-institutionalised in party terms) might survive, it might even prove stable, but I doubt it. And if your link is right, and there can be no Putinism without Putin, well, it's Times of Trouble time again.

We'll look back on days of yore like the thirty years war, the French wars of religion, and the times of trouble as halcyon days in comparison to what's coming down the road

I think the No Putinism without Putin is a fairly coherent theory.

Your first paragraph reminds me of the 1954 Guatamala elections after the coup , brought to us by the rules based world order supporters , the USA

If the whole system is set up so it collapses into factional bloodletting and a scramble for booty the moment Putin himself departs the giant table it’s just a matter of time isn’t it, him being old.

It wasn't a social event, it was a mediation with his ex-wife to discuss who would look after the children, but after the trifle incident she got custody.
He doesn't have an ex-wife. He's married to the mother of his children.

Yeah all fair points The39thStep, cheers. I'm not on Twitter or Telegram at all and pretty much only see those links here or Reddit feeds that I glance at so I pay not much attention to them. There is a huge and growing number of 'OSINT experts' on social media that seem to pretty much just be a teenager or middle aged man on the internet who's just republishing other people's work/speculation. I guess it's like Covid (or anything...) if you can present something that people want to read (and which maybe fulfils their wildest dreams) and re-tweet then you can quickly build up some online kudos and potentially money.

Have you listened to Perun at all? He's just done one on the counter-offensive I'm listening to now, but he mentioned doing on the coup/Wagner which will be well worth a listen I think.

Yes there are a lot of grifters and bullshit artists around. As this graphic amusingly shows.

Definitely guilty of falling for tyre guy at the beginning, turned out he is a right wing Trumpette, the tyre thing may have been a stopped clock moment, or total nonsense, anyone know either way? Igor Sushko, (race car guy) is an absolute fantasist, as became rapidly clear early on. He's still tweeting absolute bollox and Malcolm Nance appears to be really rather naively retweeting him regularly, Nance is an odd one as well but I'm not going to accuse him of anything from my armchair/sofa. He definitely seems to care a lot.

Happily not so deep that I could recognise the others mentioned but caution has to be exercised, as Canadian Volunteer and Ripleys Heroes demonstrated in particular. And that Jamie Vasquez character, weird goings on there.

Just realised St Andrews guy is Phillips O'Brien, :D , is he not credible then? Oh I don't know what to believe anymore.
