We’re two years into the deadlock already, remember…As soon as she gets a splinter or catches her foot on a rusty nail she will come round to your way of thinking.
I have some Lino with floorboard effect pictured on it, great stuff, recon it'll last years, just mop down now and then
Dunno... it's all Lino to meActual lino, or the vinyl stuff that a lot of people refer to as lino but isn't?
(Actual lino is fucking amazing stuff)
Did you choose this floorcovering?I have some Lino with floorboard effect pictured on it, great stuff, recon it'll last years, just mop down now and then
price was a major factor in the decisionDid you choose this floorcovering?
I think one of the things I’m most looking forward to about our new house is NOT waking up to the sound and smell of the cat crapping in a litter tray at 5am.! But we’ve got to get through his two weeks of not being allowed out first. Not going to be fun at allAlready got them! I do like the feel of walking barefoot on carpet, though.
Cats are a factor in this situation - it's easier to clean hard flooring and they don't wake you up at 7am by scratching on it...on the other hand, I'm not keen on the prospect of hearing their little claws rattle up and down the landing at that time either.
Whether this makes sense really depends entirely on the type of building and the floor construction.Having lived through the winter of 2010/qq when it regularly hit -10 at night, I do not recommend wooden floors whether hardwood or laminate, even with rugs, as the heat just didn't stay in the room. That was the winter I had a sleeping bag under two duvets with the heating on overnight. Carpet wins, at least in the bedrooms.
I have two open doorways with no door - the kitchen, and a cupboard thing in the office/spare bedroom. The cupboard looks ugly and it's where I'll keep clutter/suitcases so just want it hidden. Plus that room is really bare with white walls so a bit of colour.what is the intended function of the doorway curtain things - are they to go instead of a door ? Do you want them for privacy or decoration or something else?
It could, but I will be getting a new carpet so am really just after a short term fix.
If you ask a local cab firm to send an 'estate car' as you've got suitcases to move, they'll know what to expect and shouldn't be a problem.Yay, my bed has arrived and it's all in boxes. Perhaps I won't put it up till the carpet's done, and sleep somewhere else until then. I've done all the measuring for the carpets (which confused me a bit - don't they come and measure? Bear in mind I'm not doing this directly and some things may be getting lost in translation!)
Today and tomorrow morning are my final moving days. It's meant to be today but current landlord asked what time on Saturday I was leaving, so I'll go with that. Still have some large heavy suitcases to move. Such a pain with no car, and Ubers get annoyed when you take the p. Any suggestions? It's only 3km away.
I cancelled my work this weekend, so I have a whole weekend to clean, organise, and start getting the place kitted out. Exciting. I should restrain myself until the carpets are in, but I think I can buy some bits as they can always go in the kitchen/hallway.
These are the door tapestries I am looking at:

Any ideas of where to buy a nice floor lamp? I may well do a trek to Ikea for a mooch.
I'm not expecting to be invited round anyway, so, whatever.teuchter will be impressed to learn that I recently removed the door from my bathroom for the same reason, it was just annoying and unnecessary. Nice bit of fabric stapled up does the job fine.
We still don’t have a door to our en suite due to reasons not entirely dissimilar to the reasons we still have a bare floor in the bedroom.teuchter will be impressed to learn that I recently removed the door from my bathroom for the same reason, it was just annoying and unnecessary. Yep my door-free bathroom is en suite too, so I really don’t see an issue, unless you were to find yourself inexplicably hosting a teuchter in yr bedroom. We still don’t have a door to our en suite due to reasons not entirely dissimilar to the reasons we still have a bare floor in the bedroom.
You don’t see it as not an issue when you are trying to get some kip and you can hear unholy sounds wafting through.Yep my door-free one is en suite too, so I really don’t see an issue, unless you were to find yourself inexplicably hosting a teuchter in yr bedroom.
Oh. Yes I basically don’t know how anybody cohabits anyhow. You don’t see it as not an issue if you are trying to get some kip and you can hear unholy sounds wafting through.
Have you measured into the doorway?Yay, my bed has arrived and it's all in boxes. Perhaps I won't put it up till the carpet's done, and sleep somewhere else until then. I've done all the measuring for the carpets (which confused me a bit - don't they come and measure?
Ours jammed and I was locked in from 3am till 7am when my husband finally came downstairs.. my taxi leaving for a 2 weeks shoot abroad arrived at 7.45am!Our handle jammed and I was locked out of our bathroom once. It was unpleasant.
