This is for sale in Poole. I really fancy it, but my wife says absolutely not. But imagine just chilling out on it after a refit, fishing off the stern, and mainly knowing you've a well maintained safe boat to enjoy.

Vanguard submarine reported to have suffered a 'malfunction' whilst on duty a year ago, according to the MoD, or a near catastrophe, as The S*n reports it. Won't link to the latter, but front page image below, as well as report from the BBC...

During the incident the main depth gauge on the submarine failed as it was diving, a defence source confirmed, but a secondary depth gauge was still working.
The paper said the submarine was still within its limits for operating safely but was diving towards its "crush depth" before the alarm was raised.
Sooo... Safety systems work as expected? I can't imagine that no-one noticed the diving planes were set to dive and the depth reading wasn't increasing.
