Well, after servicing the MXC525 ( The oily smell was due to having a totally non oiled knackered air filter in it so it was slightly burning engine oil which was getting drawn past the rings) everything is well inside tolerances, so I am extremely happy, these bikes need maintenance like every 10 hours of run time, if you are riding competitively, oil change every 100 miles ( LOL), filter change every other oil change, new clutch every 500 miles, new rings every 1000 miles piston replaced every other ring change etc.
I already knew this but they are fucking proper hooligan machines, any way when giving it some, I cannot keep the fucking front wheel down so sprocket change is in order ( top speed about 75-80mph LOL) gets there in about 3 seconds though, I may look at a quick shifter for it as most of that fucking 3 seconds is frantically changing gear.
I also need to lower it about 3" and I have a 32" inside leg, so some internal rear shock and fork mods with some seat cut out should do it, if yer not feeling secure on such a ridiculous hooligan machine, you need to mod them ( and I don't mean shoving the forks through the clamps and extending the dog bone on the rear like an idiot because that fucks up your steering geometry.) you need to chop the preload spacers and put the chopped part on top of the bump spring internally on both forks and rear shock, before that though, you need to do some severe stoppies to see how much travel you can work with.
