I wouldn't go that far, but I wasn't happy about some other aspects -- the Frank sidestory in particular was a "WTF
" for me.
Not sure about that, not every episode surely. When he came to collect Liam from the school the other week, I thought the dialogue then (and involving those posh parents) was quite sensitive and realistic.

To the Bat-poles!
It was easily the best episode of the new series, even if some of the plots seemed a bit familiar (gay bloke falls in love with straight woman = Bob & Rose, hard-up bloke becomes male prostitute = Hung, Karen is diagnosed as being bi-polar just like Stacey in EastEnders).
That said, I love Ian and Mickey. They're the best two characters - and actors - left in it.

Then I realised I had a lump in my throat.
That is the brilliance of Shameless.

This series has been another disappointing one....but after the E4 episode tonight....hmmmm....
Thank fuck the whole Karen-Joe shenanigans has finally come out, and good on you Jamie. That's some inventive revenge. They should have finished the series on that really, rather than dragging it out.

it's past me by all these years. then xes mentioned something about it over xmas and I had a look on 4od. now I'm hooked on it, currently just at the start of series 3. , so I have a long way to go before I catch up with this new series

Generally UK to US conversions dont really do that well, so I'm not expecting much but I'll give the pilot a go.....

ok just finished watching the US pilot of shameless!
It was surprisingly good, and was well worth the download! I was worried about the american humour but its as funny if not funnier than the UK shameless! They have created some quality new characters!
I'm definitely going to download the next US one when it comes out.
