Seriously Good Looking Guitars - The Guitar Porn Thread

I've been using this one as my messing about watching TV while twiddling guitar: (did some recording with it recently and it got left out of the case..)

Latest addition to my collection, Gretsch G5127. Sky blue, which made it a must-have (OK, Gretsch call it baby blue...). Got it off ebay and needs some TLC to make it a player. Very light, whereas my other Gretsch, a Tenny, weighs a ton. DeArmond 2000 pickups - the upper strings are a bit shrill but the bottom strings have a big, hollow, woody sound.

For her plain Jane simple looks and the warm sound of her tone I'm still in love with my Martin mahogany dreadnought Mary Jane.

My Ibanez acoustic bought partly because it looks beautiful.
Good general guitar for wandering about playing tunes. It has tuner and pickup built in.

I'm a massive fan of Eko guitars and would seriously consider forking out a small fortune for a "blue sparkle" model.

How easy would it be respray my Fender Jaguar in this wonderful colour?

Nice guitar, with the usual horrible Eko/Welson trem. :)

If you can get the paint, lacquer and the correct sparkle medium (usually fine glitter particles), anyone competent at guitar resprays should be able to do it.
How it looks will depend on how they do they job. Some resprayers mix the sparkle medium with the paint coats and the lacquer coats; some lay down the paint coats plain, apply some of the sparkle medium to the paint before it cures, and then apply the lacquer coats over it; some only add the sparkle medium to the lacquer coats.
Sparkle and pearlescent finishes always look good on more forceful solid colours, IMO.

Very nice. I'm ambivalent about bound edges on Teles, but it looks good. Excellent tobacco sunburst finish too!

Yeah, I was blown away by that finish, having just painted that violin in just *one* colour

See isn't that funny. I'm mad for bound edges and am considering paying the extra wonga for one that comes with it. I should of course get Seth to just make me one to my own spec which will be no doubt better. He's been getting some good reviews recently.
In fact..............

I love binding on semis and Les Pauls, and I love Tele Thinlines, which are also bound, I've just got a bit of a "hmm" about a guitar with an ashtray bridge and single-coils having it. :D

And a tele's got to have the 3 brass saddles. You can't get perfect intonation with them, but you can get it near enough and it's a small price to pay for the ballsier sound and the vintage look.
