I've been using this one as my messing about watching TV while twiddling guitar: (did some recording with it recently and it got left out of the case..)

I use a mordern danelectro longhorn sometimes.

Fits nicely into a suitcase with the neck off and is very hardwearing.

Sounds surprisingly good too. The pick ups are not monsters like on the be better gibsons but they are no worse than anything on any fenders I own.
It's taken a beating and will one day die. The saddest thing is that Danelectro only make designs for a few months at a time, so I can't just go into a shop and buy a new one when I want to.
I think it only cost me about £200 new. Best guitar buy I ever did on money for quality ratio.

So I've taken the plunge and contact my friend Seth to build me one of those Tele esk guitars. So far I've told it must have maximum grunt and be in blue sparkle. Wonder if blue sparkle and binding would work together. I think it would.

Nice looking thing! Doesn't it get a bit hot in that helmet though? When I do gigs I sweat like a motherfucker - never mind any headgear!

Stupid hat and full leathers are not the best outfit for running and jumping around for half an hour in.
I have just learnt to accept it.

Yeah, I was just thinking about ivory instead of white, might be a little less drastic. Do you think an ivory scratch plate too? So many mind boggling decisions. He also gave me a link to Bare Knuckle Pickups Which I presume is so that I can pick what I'd like on it Think I'll be doing a fair bit of research over the next few weeks/months.

Looks like very thin leather, glued over some kind of man-made substrate if you ask me.
