Of course there are exceptions, no-one denies that (except maybe Roosh). But in general, as a general rule, and in general terms, women are attracted to men because of status--whether that is expressed in terms of money, fame, intelligence, popularity or charisma.

Women are attracted to all kinds of different qualities, and each individual person will afford those qualities with status, if that's what you want to call it, but that doesn't = women are attracted to status. Of course not. No-one (well certainly not me) would claim that there is anything innate or natural about anyone's sexuality. Obviously it's socially and historically determined, for the reasons you outline above.
