Fully aware of the other gymnastics thread, and the 2 references to rhythmic in it.

But crikey :D Just turned on to see a Polish lass doing wonderful things in green with a ball.

This looks like a grade-A bonkers, and tremendously enjoyable event :D

Anyone else tuning in?

Any past masters lurking on the forums?

She was great. There'd been quite a few girls before her fucking up.

I was just saying on other thread, I've never seen any extensive coverage in previous Olympics. I don't think they really take it seriously. :(

If you go on YouTube, there's some fantastic clips from previous Olympics (most of which I watched online after the last Olympics due to very little live coverage)

I like watching the ribbons as well. I'm always wondering if they're going to trip up and take a nasty tumble :D

Found this from last year. Now I've not seen this before (hoops and ribbons together). Wonder if the team events will be doing that here?

Is this the only Olympic event where costume and makeup seems to contribute to the result?
Do they *actually* contribute to the result?

I was commenting to an entirely disinterested Artichoke only the other day that it seemed curious that Women's 100m hurdlers were painted up like ladies of the night.

Seems to be a problem with the beeper timing atm, btw :hmm:

Anyway, I'm channel hopping plus watching computer (with no volume) at the moment. How are the Russians and Chinese doing? They were the best last time
