Heresy perhaps, but I've spent the last few days driving a 2017 1.6 diesel Astra estate - it was quick, fun to drive, quiet - even at 90+ - and very, very comfortable...
Pretty practical as well - decent sized boot for four big rucksacks and reasonable legroom in the back for two blokes.
Did about 600 miles throughout Wales and the Marches on motorways, fast A roads, windy B roads, and because someone (not me..) can't map read, some where-the-fuck-are-we? No-fucking-clue-its-not-on-the-fucking-map! roads...
Nothing broke.
After having the front arms and rear bushes done a four wheel alignment is highly recommended (at a decent place with a Hunter machine or similar.) Chances are the camber/castor/toe will be out of spec up front and rear. It might be just the toe that is out causing things like twitchiness and tramlining.
The times I've been in bigger Vauxhalls I've noted how they seem to be good on the motorway as far as NVH goes.
The Porsche Panemera Sport Turismo Turbo must be the fastish-est estate you can currently buy. I can't think of any other estate that will do 188mph off the showroom floor.
Play with tire pressure, too. To get better MPG figures many cars are specced with tyre pressures too high IMHO. Try dropping a PSI all round if you are on the factory setting. Play with different pressures front and back, too.Thanks. I'll ask about this when it goes back in.

Low power on the electric side. Just a nod to squeeze into a lower emissions bracket?

Yea. I don't think I'll get one now. Put me right offNot sure about that little clock on the dash
Porsche fire back with the "Panamera Turbo S e-hybrid Sport Turismo". 550hp (petrol) + 136hp (electric). 0-60 3.2s and 192mph. It's basically a 918 Spyder estate.
The interior is nice.
Good man, you should get an Audi like all right-thinking gentlemen doYea. I don't think I'll get one now. Put me right off
You'll be disapoint to hear that I'm an ex-audi driver. Had a 13 yr old A4 which was banging, for a few years, then had an A3 as a company car for a few years - which was pretty shit to be honest.Good man, you should get an Audi like all right-thinking gentlemen do
That's the spiritJust think, driving an Audi will instantly give you the respect of everyone and the right to drive like you own the road. Everyone should drive Audi.
Sorry it's an Audi, but it's an estate, with twin turbo V8. 0-60 in 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 176 MPH. Kitted out with one or two extra's.
