Chief seagull hater & farmerbarleymow's nemesis.
It's moved from BBC 2 to BBC 1...

Explaining the decision behind the switch, Director of BBC Content Charlotte Moore revealed: “Peaky Blinders is world class drama at the top of its game and the time has arrived for it to move to the UK’s biggest channel. Steven Knight’s epic storytelling is authentic and utterly compelling and I want to give it the chance to be enjoyed by an even broader audience on BBC One.

“We couldn’t have asked for a better response to series four and the impact it had with young audiences. This move will also give BBC2 more creative headroom to experiment with new drama.”

Tommy Shelby MP will be getting to meet Oswald Mosley MP, played by Hunger Games star Sam Claflin, which should be interesting.

When is Peaky Blinders back on TV? Who’s in the cast, what’s the plot and will there be a movie?

Wonder if a BBC1 budget will pay for a dialect coach good enough to finally pry Helen McCrory's accent away from Liverpool and closer to the Midlands.
(I'll watch it and love it, of course I will, but odds on it's only going to get more ridiculous)

To my shame I've missed all previous series. Last night my gf insisted I watch it with her. Really glad I did, excellent TV.

I'm new to it myself but caught up recently.
I'm always late to the party with these things. Was same with game of thrones.

The accents remain piss boilingly bad

There is no phone box on top of the Lickey Hills

Arthur remains one of the worst drawn character in TV history

Seeing Tommy terrify the arrogant Judge was a moment of class war done to perfection

It’s brilliant to have it back!!!

Never mind the phone box, the international phone calls a greater anachronism

Brilliantly stylish but the accents and anachronisms getting a bit much and some of the script is just. fucking. DIRE. Line after line where you just think "said nobody ever" or it's drowned out by the creaking heaving about of plot machinery and hamfisted exposition. Entanglement with Mosley promises some decent action though. Too in love with itself by half. (I'm still watching to the bitter end, of course :D.)

Yes, it’s reached the point where it’s started to reference itself hasn’t it?

The accent is a long running sore. How hard can it be to either get actors who can do our accent properly or even hire people from here? The bloke who plays Arthur is useless and Pol continues to sound like she’s from Birkenhead.

I will also be watching every second however.

Mind you there was this old fella who used drink in this pub in Great Barr I used to go in in who did after about 9.00pm

The Billy Boys bit was embarrassingly bad. Jimmy’s accent was terrible. But the whole thing made me cringe. It did make me wonder if that’s how Brummies feel about the Peaky Blinders.

Don’t get me wrong, I still like the show. It still looks good. But it just seems to be moving from one good-looking scene to another. It seems to have lost something of its coherence, its movement, its narrative, in favour of static set pieces.

I’ll wait until 3 or 4 episodes are on iPlayer and watch them together.

Catch up, OD, and box sets, are a godsend. I used to abandon many of the series I started because I couldn’t remember plot lines for a week or lost interest between episodes.

I often record a whole series of things before watching, but some, like this, I can't resist watching them soon after they are aired, but keep them to binge watch again in a few months.

For me it’s still highly enjoyable. Highlight was Tommy vs that Judge and the scene in the field with the cross.

They do need to lay off the constant slowmo shot of the peakys walking through their hood set to a soundtrack of Royal Blood or something because is starting to grate a little.
