Quick sense check to make sure we're all on the same page:

Whenever you hear the mention of the 'Medley' swimming race, you picture a joke whereby it's all about singing (a collection of thematically similar hits in a edited megamix) interspersed with some swimming?

I mean, the joke writes itself, but I'm probably thought about it enough I'm now up to a good 10-12 minute stand up routine based around it...The image of the karaoke machine at the end of the swim lane, and all the efforts to stop the water dripping in the microphone. Some rules around you can't have just the women singing, it must be shared, and there's bonus seconds for flair and creativity.

Bloody hell, wasn't really following the triathlon very closely, but what a sprint finish to the line!

Germany held on for gold, but photo finish in a triathlon with four legs between GBR and USA for second.

Hosts France come home in 4th, a minute after.

As they were coming down to the finish line and Potter was pushing to overtake, I honestly thought she didn't quite have enough. She looked like her body was absolutely spent, gaining but then dropping, but fuck me she held in there and managed to reel in the US athlete.

Just astonishing.

I'm happy for the young Italian gymnast on the beam but the Brazilian gymnast seemed a bit undermarked, I was expecting her to get into the medals, in my very uneducated view!

Women’s team sprint world record broken 3 times, just in the qualifying rounds. Looks like this track is fast, expect a week of record breaking

The gold medal race for team sprint is about to start and it flips over to ads and then House of Games.

The staff rush to find the remote & change the channel just as GB cross the finish line. Fuckssake.

Really getting very pissed off with the BBC coverage. It's great that Keely got gold but we can hear the pole vault going on in the background and me and the kids want to watch it!
