Neo Nazis in Germany

Yes, that was one of the bits I was less convinced by. Dunno what German gun laws are like but can't imagine they're super lenient. I liked the bit about the maces and crossbows as well.
It was more the bit about ""Wishful thinking, those are impossible demands"—all the Germans told me the AfD growing into power was impossible as recently as five years ago, they are literal Nazis but they have offered, in fact, an alternativ für Deutschland, it's the worst alternative but it's an alternative, and in the past 10 years they put the "impossible" alternative of National-Socialism squarely within the possible, what's your alternative?" that stuck in my head.

The 'get on with it, don't rely on anyone but yourself and your community'-sentiment is refreshing.

Although i don't fully agree with the 5 years ago bit....it's been long coming, and the whole german anti covid movement only made it more mainstream and acceptable.

I quite liked it
I mean, the lefty gun ranges stuff is something I've only really encountered in a US context, and my reaction to that has always been "well, I don't inherently love it but I guess people do what makes sense in their context". Is there enough gun ownership in Germany for that to make sense there? Just had a look at wikipedia, and learned that apparently "For people over 18 years of age, a license is not required to own a single-shot percussion firearm developed before 1 January 1871, or to own and carry any muzzle-loader with a flintlock or earlier design. However, the purchase of black powder or similar in order to actually use the firearms requires a license."

Interesting example of the German state banning a far right publication yesterday:

Wow, it seems like ex-lefties who've gone super right wing really like starting magazines called Compact.
